Young party crowd
Stayed in the dormitory...not used to it, so it was a new experience. Most people were younger, so I was out of my element. However, most of them were respectful and kind.

Nice hostel within walking distance of Manuel Antonio Park. Breakfast was OK. Service in general was good.

Hotel perched on a ridge
A tip: don't bring rolling suitcases here unless you like to carry them -- there are a lot of stairs. Our room didn't have any hooks or places to put our backpacks, but the room my parents stayed in had both and seemed much nicer. Their room also had a nice terrace with a view of the gardens; our room looked out at another building, but did have a palm conveniently outside for a squirrel monkey to descend. If you are close to the pool, expect loud music at night till at least 10 pm. Overall room was small but comfortable. Enjoyed seeing all the birds around, especially the blue-crowned mot mot. There were views both directions from the hotel. I was glad for the A/C and the pool to stay cool. Good value for the money.

Beautiful, fun hostel/hotel.
Beautiful property, great breakfast. The room was small and the bathroom was a little dingy, but for the price i'd stay again for sure. Also it ended up being the go-to place for the whole city. Everyone that we asked where to go out all said Selina's.

Beautiful but pricey getaway
The hostel was absolutely beautiful. The hostel is made up of villas spread about in different places on the property, and you get an amazing view from the rooftop (where they offer yoga twice a day, an amazing way to begin a day) The pools are nice and it has a fun, casual vibe. The downside- it is difficult to get around Antonio- it is set on a mountaintop along a steep windy road that is most parts has no sidewalk. There is a bus to get around. The beach is about 1 mi away down a steep mountain. There are plenty of amazing restaurants nearby. Don't bring a lot of luggage, you will have to climb up and down a lot of stairs. The only complaint I have is how incredibly uncomfortable the beds are. I expected basic from a hostel but the mattresses are stiff as boards and the pillows paper thin. There is a lot to do at the hostel and the staff will help you plan activities- they will also push really really hard for you to try the whitewater rafting because one of the staff members works for that company. We did horseback riding and had a great time. Manuel Antonio is pricey! Expect to pay about the same as you would in a U.S. resort town
