How on earth has this place got good reviews?
I will start by saying that the staff are wonderful and the breakfast was excellent! That it where it ends... so sorry. The entrance to the annex was tatty and unwelcoming. The room was cheap furnishings, with a wobbly dressing table, tatty little rug, to mention a few. The bed was uncomfortable, with a strange 'ridge' running through the middle horizontally. There was faecal matter on the side of the toilet bowl, which made me wonder if the rest of the bathroom had been cleaned. Dirty rim around the bottom of the outside of the shower. The room felt damp. I was told this was the 'best room', as it had a private garden outside ... a dirty, rusty bench, in a small yard, with a nice garden area a little walk further round. How on earth has this place managed to get such good reviews? But lovely young girls serving!

    The Malthouse Suite
Really good. Spacious. Good value for money, Apparently the owners have just taken over the Suite property and will be redecorating it shortly - a few bits here and there but it didn't seem *that* tired to us. Food was great!

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location.
We stayed one night in the Malthouse on our way down to Cornwall. Our room was the Chocolate Suite, located a little way down the road in the adjoining building from the main Pub/Restaurant. The suite was colourful (we both had a good giggle when first opening the door) to say the least but very comfortable with all the expected amenities and semi private outside area in the walled garden. The food and drink were both reasonably priced and very good. The included breakfast was excellent as well, if you are B&B you have the choice of the menu. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit of an issue if the restaurant is busy. As for location you couldn't ask for a nicer spot, we both enjoyed a post dinner stroll down the river before retiring for the night.

We arrived at the malthouse and went into the bar for a simple checkin . The room was clean and tidy . There is a side bar which had a live band on the night we stayed. We woke the next morning to a great full English breakfast you could have small or large. It was a small walk into Ironbridge .
