Room for improvement
A clean and modern hotel a bit off the beaten path. Currently, with a decent amount of construction going on, but it was not very noisy when we were around in the evening. My main problem was the room. We were there for 5 nights for our honeymoon and we’re severely disappointed. We booked a canal view suite that definitely was not a suite. It was a regular looking room (no real sitting area, just a bench at the foot of the bed) on the ground floor, eye level to the canal, with no privacy whatsoever if you even slightly opened your curtain. When I complained to the front desk, immediately after checking in, I was told they were fully booked and nothing could be done. In the morning they told us they could move us to the room above ours, but that we had to be packed up by noon. We packed up and at noon our new room wasn’t ready, but we needed to leave our old room. It was very inconvenient. Later that afternoon we were given a slightly bigger (now with a lounger and bench, but I still would not call it a suite), but still not very private as we were still quite close to the ground. If you stay here, book the cheapest room. Don’t bother paying more for something that doesn’t live up to the title of suite. They also had poor restaurant recommendations/did not have a true concierge to guide you. We were looking for a romantic dinner and were guided to a pub showing a soccer match. Clean, new rooms, but I would choose to stay elsewhere for a special occasion.

Everything was wonderful, my only issue is that we did pre-pay for two rooms one for us one one for another couple. The other couple had serious health issues and was not able to come. The hotel was completely sold out and the other couples reservation was canceled so obviously they re-booked the room, and yet charged us as well for the two nights for our friends that were unable to come. Lesson learned Never take the pre-payment option.

It was a perfect hotel . Loved the fact it was not in San Marco and was worth the walk.

Mixed Experience
The front desk was extremely helpful and the building is beautiful. The rooms are also very nice, but the beds and pillows aren't as comfortable as they could be for this price of a hotel. Other minor things about service that added up: servers at breakfast were not very friendly or attentive (we had to ask for coffee and were not greeted or thanked), we had to ask twice for extra pillows, our room was not serviced even though we left a sign on the door asking for it and were gone from 9am-2:30PM, and at that point we wanted to be in the room because it was raining and so didn't get service that night. I'm sure they would have granted any requests we had, but overall, paying $500 US a night, I expected a lot more. We stayed in Hotel Spadai in Florence and by comparison, the service, materials, and amenities were overall superior and we paid slightly less there. With that said, we did enjoy the outdoor hot tub on the roof, and the location was excellent for our purposes (not as crowded as other areas). And there were a couple of front desk staff that had great recommendations and they were also very friendly and helpful.

Highly suggest this great location hotel!
Great clean space! Front desk is very very helpful and speak wonderful English. Rooms on lower tiers can be smaller than you expect but they are clean and very modern.
