***Attention Guests: We are doing everything that we can to keep guest apartments clean and sanitized. Between each stay, protocols include cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.). ***
The Ullrich Suite is an unusual and beautifully furnished one-bedroom apartment in St. Louis' grand and historic Tower Grove East neighborhood. Located in a former storefront bakery, the apartment features an open floor plan. A large arts-and-crafts-style bookcase separates the living area from the sleeping area. In other words, the bedroom is not a room by itself with a door.
The Ullrich Suite can sleep up to three, with an excellent King-sized bed, and a comfortable couch in the living room. If you would like to have the couch made up, please make your reservation for three.
Before your arrival, the Ullrich Suite will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You'll also find a range of cleaning supplies that you're welcome to use and complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, etc.). To keep our rates low, we don't replenish these items during your stay.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped, with a large gas range, frost-free refrigerator, dishwasher, and everything you need for basic meal preparation.
The apartment has internet with WIFI, and an antenna for local stations on the flat screen television. You are welcome to log into any streaming services to which you subscribe, through the Roku Box. The Ullrich is on the ground floor, with one step leading to the apartment entrance. In warmer weather, sit outside and enjoy the fountain and garden in the Ullrich's gated courtyard.
Dynamic pricing ensures competitive rates. State lodging taxes apply to stays of less than 30 nights and City lodging taxes also apply to stays of less than 32 nights. SF Shannon offers weekly and monthly discounts, which are applied at the time of booking. Please leave a note in the comments if you would like your reservation divided into weekly or monthly payments.
We accept same-day reservations, if you contact us by 2 PM Central Time USA. Sorry, while we all love them, we do not allow pets at the Ullrich Suite. Smoking is prohibited.
Upon making a reservation, you will be asked to sign an electronic document to confirm your understanding of SF Shannon's payment and cancellation schedule and policies. Read what it says on the "Vacation Rental Policies" tab of SF Shannon's website.
Parking is free and on-street in front of the Ullrich Suite.
From this location it is easy to walk, bike or take public transit to the best of St. Louis. The Gateway Arch and Downtown St. Louis are less than four miles from the Ullrich Suite. The world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden is two miles west--and a delightful walk, through some of the city's finest historic neighborhoods. St. Louis University Medical Center is within walking distance. The main campus of St. Louis University is two miles north. Washington University's main campus is about seven miles from the Ullrich Suite. Barnes Hospital & Washington University Medical Center is four miles from the apartment. Numerous restaurants and magnificent historic parks are within walking distance.
Since all of SF Shannon's vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. The co-owners live within walking distance of each SF Shannon vacation rental. Rachel, Karen and their spouses have raised their families in their respective neighborhoods, and have always felt perfectly safe.
If you're traveling with an infant, we have a pack-and-play available for a $10 one-time charge. If you'd like to use it, please let us know.
Why that name?
The Ullrich Guest Suite is named for the Ullrich Family that built, worked and lived in 3206 Shenandoah for the first half of the 20th Century. Joseph Ullrich and Sons Bakery was originally located on Geyer Avenue, near the current on-ramp to Interstate 44 at Jefferson. Around 1908 the family relocated to Shenandoah Avenue. The living room/bedroom of the Ullrich Suite was originally the front showroom of the bakery. The current kitchen was the family's dining room. The Ullrich Suite's built-in hutch & china cabinet is original to the building.
