Chiang Mai 2023
This property is a little gem in Chiang Mai. Breakfast was great with many options western style and Asian style breakfast. Pool was small but very nicely located in the courtyard surrounded by trees and gardens. The location was perfect for getting around the old town and for seeing many temples. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in Chiang Mai.

This hotel was fine for a quick 1 night stay at Patong beach. It’s close to the beach but takes 5-10 minutes to actually get to the beach as you have to go around through the exit and then walk towards the beach. Walking distance to the busy street with markets and bars. Pretty good locations as it’s walkable but in a quiet area. The pool is only open 9am-6pm so didn’t even get to use it as we got back after 6. Wish it had longer hours as we wanted to spend time at the beach and check out sunset and then would have been nice to spend time at the pool. The grounds are pretty with lots of gardens. Breakfast was good, had lots of options from noodles and fried rice to bacon to pastries and fruits. Room was good but would not rate it 5 stars. The AC stopped working in the e middle of the night and started making weird noises. Had to reset the key card to get it working again. Be careful with the water they provide. It says water is free and mineral water is 30 baht. The black water bottles on top of the fridge that look like mineral water are actually the ones that are free and the water bottles in the fridge they charge you for which is very confusing. We ended up drinking the water bottles from the fridge and got charged as they consider those mineral water for some reason.

Great location. Wat Chedi Luang and Sunday Night Market is literally 30 seconds walk from the hotel. Our room was large, clean and quiet. The only downside? We didn't stay long enough to enjoy Chiang Mai more!

Chiangmai Cutie
We spent four nights at the Viangluang Resort. As with all of our Thai hotels, the entire staff from check-in to breakfast and cleaning were excellent. I was having trouble with the hotel wi-fi and one of the desk workers took the time to use his phone to establish a hotspot for me. The room we had was clean, neat and had a wonderful bed. The minibar has very reasonable prices so you do not feel like you are being ripped off as most mini bars seem. The breakfast staff were accommodating and pleasant. They even called our room one morning to see if we were coming to breakfast as it was soon closing. The pool is refreshing and was enjoyed by us each day. The location of the hotel inside the Old City Wall made for easy exploring. Nothing ever seemed too far away from here. Our shower had a hard time regulating the hot water which was a tiny concern and having the smoking section right at the front entrance where everybody must enter and exit was a minus for us. Overall, a great place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay again.
