Good and enjoyable first time.
Well, there was no view of the canals, but a good central location to get to almost any place.

Very good - my room was an odd shape. No regular closet. It was more like a cabinet. For just me it was okay, but if two people I would have switched rooms. Loved the location.

Lost in Amsterdam
I’m sorry to say that the stay was ok. It’s located near lots of chic places to go & stores r only around the corner from the hotel. The Rembrandt House is actually around the corner as well. Some receptionist are very friendly & some are more subdued in personality. Unfortunately, my misfortune came when I plugged in my phone to one of the outlets in the room just b4 bed & in the morning there was a power surge which destroyed my phone completely. It was unusable, the plug was scinged. The hotel was not helpful. I was told by Apple store I would need a new phone my old one was unusable. Other than this happening the stay was pleasant enough. I had a room overlooking the canal so that was nice & relaxing. Re: plug & phone issue, I’d advise you to bring a power charger to charge, & use just in case of a mishap I endured. I had no outside contact w/family b/c I couldn’t remember any phone #’s as no one does. So, I felt terribly alone when my friend wasn’t there w/me. Plus, what if I had an accident? I would have been able to call anyone to let them know. Not having a working phone really interrupted my vacation. I also could not take photos to remember my vacation.
