Disgusting
Upon arrival at 5:15pm, the front desk was empty. We waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to begin the check in process. We were then advised our room was not ready even though check in time was stated in my confirmation email as 3pm. The front desk staff member was full of excuses including not enough cleaning staff. We asked for a refund of our room so we could find a different hotel as we had been on the road for 9 hours on our journey home. We were told that this was not an option due to the rate we reserved at. Okay. We then asked when the room would be ready and were told no later than 8pm. I asked what we could do to speed it up. The front desk staff stated that they would go up and check to see if it was clean. We waited another 15 minutes at an empty desk and were told that the room was in fact ready. Great. Staff was incredibly unfriendly and unapologetic. At one point, more people walked in to check in and staff stated, “are you kidding me?” We quickly went to the room on floor 2 where we were greeted with a heavy marijuana smell in the hallway. Upon entry to our room, we were pleasantly surprised that the smell was not in the room but what we did find was grossly disturbing. Toenail clippings on the floor of the bathroom out into the entry way. Mold in the shower. Water in the window seal. I would not recommend your hotel to my worst enemy. Hopefully this will save the next exhausted family the headache and disgust that we experienced.
