Remote but beautiful
We didn’t realize how far and isolated this place is from the rest of downtown Moab. Its about 15 miles from 191. The drive along 128 is very beautiful. The road follows the Colorado River. We stayed at a ‘King Suite’ room for a night. It was very spacious. The room was decorated in a western cowboy theme. Lots of towels, even rag towels. It has its own private patio overlooking a garden and the Colorado River. WiFi was good. Water is hard water. But they do have a separate line for filtered water. The location is beautiful. Surrounded by gorges and situated right next to the river.

Spectacular location, welcoming and lots to do
Built along the Colorado River, this is a venerable old lodge (former cattle ranch) that's bustling, welcoming, large and yet doesn't feel crowded. In ours, the river was just behind the private deck, but the weather was cool and rainy so we didn't get much use of it. The room was large and well-appointed with a kitchen, coffee-maker and microwave and a dining room table. The front desk staff was helpful advising on things to do, and there's a quirky basement museum on the various movies and commercials that have been shot in/around Moab. There's a winery on the property, too. But it's the location and the old and semi-grand vibe that are the most engaging features of the lodge.

Great Western Experience
My wife & I stayed here 3 nights, did not want to leave. The lodge & testaurant, the Cowboy Grill, were a true 1st class "western" experience. The lodge is in an incredibly beautiful location, is in grest condition, and every staff person we interacted with was genuinely friendly & helpful. Every person made their contact feel pleasantly personal. We thought the restaurant was great too, as far as food quality & great service. With the unending beauty here, we only left to go to Arches Natl Park, about 20 minites away ... and then rushed back to the lodge, we liked it so much. This property is literally top of our list to go back. We loved everything about Red Cliffs Lodge ... everything.
