Life is Good Cartagena Hostel, Cartagena
The best hostel we have ever stayed at
Great hostel, great staff, great location and above all immaculate cleanliness. We stayed in a private room- its the little things that made all the difference. The last I ever stayed in a hostel was on a Euro trip and little things like the bathroom sink faucet, the quality of the mattress the wall paints - everything was of cheap quality- this however was NOTHING like it! Absolutely high quality construction, the most comfortable bed in all of our Colombia trip stays, the best breakfast we got and extremely helpful and kind staff. Highly highly recommended

Basic in great location with delicious breakfast
Pros: Location! It's right outside the old city. Aircon in the private rooms! Sooo necessary given Cartagena's heat and humidity. Breakfast! Delicious all 3 days we were there. Service! Awesome folks at the front desk who are ready to help with all things. Cons: Tiny - the room was very, very small for two people plus minimal luggage. Noise - there are some clubs nearby so you do get the noise associated with nightlife.

Nice clean hostel.
Nice clean hostel. I got the Double room and it was ample for 1 person. The free breakfast usually has 3 options.

Very Good8.0
Nice but expensive
The hostel was very smart; it felt more like a hotel than a hostel (there wasn't a real social feel). Our private room was very clean, the air con and shower worked pretty well (hot water intermittent like everywhere in Colombia), although we had no natural light which we didn't like. There is a kitchen but all the cupboards/fridge were locked (not sure if you have to pay to use it?), and laundry was expensive. Small pleasant roof terrace with jacuzzi pools and a couple of sun loungers. Included breakfast was pretty good - also free coffee/tea/cold water available all day, although things sometimes ran out. Staff all friendly and helpful. Great location in Getsemaní, a short walk from walled city. Road outside quite noisy, and also noisy from the downstairs bar/restaurant area. Overall a nice place, but not sure it was worth the price we paid.
