Great experience
Fantastic atmospheric motel in the desert. Nice decor, great for sitting out daytime, or at night to gaze at the stars. Old western film set next door, and great food and atmosphere at Pappy and Harriet's a few yards away. At only 70+years old this may not be as authentic as some genuine western towns, but it's a fantastic experience and a great alternative to the usual chain hotels if you are visiting the Palm Springs/Joshua Tree area.

Great western themed motel!
The Pioneertown Motel is really great. Large rooms, comfortable beds, nicely decorated western theme and clean. Our room had s view of the mountains. What a treat to sit outside at night and take in the sunset and then the stars. Stay here and have dinner at La Copine for a wonderful evening!

this motel *IS* big enough for the both of us
Lovely from beginning to end. We were there on a Wednesday when Pappy & Harriet's was closed, which meant it was extra quiet and the stars were extra bright. After dinner in Twentynine Palms (the 29palms inn restaurant is always worth the drive if you're staying in Yucca or Joshua), we picked up a bottle of wine and drank it under the stars in the Pioneertown Motel's hammocks out back. It was gorgeous. Slept like babies and woke up to an incredible view. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
