Disaster "Manager"
I stayed at the Arte Hotels twice during my travels in Thailand, once in the beginning of my trip and once towards the end of my trip. The first night stay was perfect but the last night....was horrible. We arrive and check in. They had us wait for 45 minutes because there weren't any rooms available even though we already had a reservation. Since the room was freezing, we called and asked for a second blanket. They refused to give it to us unless we paid 1,000 Bhat ($30). This was strange because during our first night stay we didn't have to pay any extra money for the blanket. Mind you, this was around 12:00am and we had a flight to catch at 9am. The concierge kept calling the room waking us up asking why we need the blanket, and trying to tell us that they ran out of blankets. I asked to speak to the manager and she was a nightmare. Long story short, she kept telling me that the police was on their way because we have a 3rd person in the room (even though I already paid for the extra body + have receipt proof). She threatened to press charges on me because of the third person in the room. I had to talk her out of calling the police by paying her extra money and telling her I wouldn't write this review. It was awful. Everyone in the hotel was friendly but her. I tried asking for her name but she refused to give it to me. And I wanted to file a formal complaint against her and the hotel but she insisted that she was the highest position and no supervisor.

Exceptional 10.0
Convenient location, comfortable beds, nice staff
We had booked for 2 deluxe King Bed Rooms for 4 nights. We were upgraded to a 2 Bedroom Suite as told, which is very nice to us. The most impressive thing is, the beds are really very comfortable, which allow us to sleep well after all shopping days. Like other comments, the room is quite wet and slightly smelly when the air-con is off, but when the air-con is on there is no problem. As our room is at the corner, so we are not sure if the soundproof is as poor as other comments. But in one morning in our bathroom, I did hear music clearly from next room bathroom, which is even louder than our TV. As a 2 Bedroom Suite, it is a bit strange to us that we only got 1 TV remote for 2 TVs and 1 hair dryer in such big room, and there is only a mini refrigerator for all 4 people, which is really too small. But anyway, we do appreciate that the hotel had given such upgrade to us. The location is quite good. Walking to T21 is only about 3 mins, while downstairs there is a 7-11 convenient store. Next to T21, under the Westin Hotel, there is a 24-hr supermarket. The only complaint on the location is, at night time, the way from T21 back to hotel, there are a lot of mice on the street! That is the only hesitation on the location, otherwise it is absolutely perfect. Although there are a few shortcomings, I believed I would choose this hotel again in next trip because of its service, location and the comfortable beds.

Nice hotel with excellent staff
We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite, which was a wonderfully spacious 1 bed room suite. The location is also excellent as it feels quiet and secluded from the hustling and bustling of bangkok, even though it was only within 5 mins walk to both the Asok BTS and the Sukhmvit MRT stations (both offers convenient access across most of Bangkok). There is also ample restaurants, massages, dentistries and shopping centre near by if you wanted to just chill in the area. The roof top infinity pool was excellent and the water was cold enough to cool you off from the hot Bangkok sun. Perhaps the highlight this hotel for me was the friendliness of all of the staff, including manager Ms Waraporn, hotel reception staff, clerks, chefs, cleaners and the doormen. Everyone made my family of 3 feel very welcomed and responded to all of our needs (including my child throwing up in the room on the first day) with haste, professionalism and friendliness. When we had discovered that we left our child's favourite blanket behind, after departing Bangkok, Ms Waraporn was very willing to help us and immediately facilitated the return (of the blanket) by Post. Overall we were very happy with everything the hotel had to offer and the attitude of the staff only made our experience even more pleasant and memorable. We will definitely return in future.

Good 6.0
Looks OK on the surface, poorly maintained rooms!
Location of this hotel was pretty good, a short walk from Asoke station which is good. I suspect there are nearer hotels (we walked past) that are cheaper and more value for money. We usually pay less for smaller hotels, and decided to spend a little more seeing the pictures and reviews of Arte Hotel for a nicer stay. Boy were we wrong! Cleanliness is definitely a problem! Once we entered the room, we were greeted with a clear sticky substance on the floor between the bed and TV (Which I stepped into ick!) we called to ask them to clean it, and when we came back after dinner it was still sticky (cause they couldn't SEE it?) Called again, and they had to come up to mop it. Room is definitely aged poorly (due to cost cutting probably by the hotel) paint chips, peeling wallpaper, automatic blinds between the room and shower was stuck at the half way point (couldn't be closed or fully opened!) imagine if I stayed with a friend or with my kid and you couldn't use the bathroom in private! When the aircon was switched off, you could smell the very strong scent of stale fabric (the curtains) which probably hasn't been washed for a looong loong time! The towels were also very worn, though clean, the towels date tags show they are 2 years old. The poor maintenance made me wary to go near their fabric chairs, or pillows, or even the pool (Even though we paid for it) They couldn't change rooms as it was fully booked. Pros: Responsive staff, and good taxi service. Spacious rooms.

Excellent hotel in Sukhumvit nightlife area.
Firstly, the warm and friendly reception and checkin, and then the quick and very accommodating response to my request for a room change. I had arrived in the small hours of the morning and went straight to bed. The next day I noticed that my room was smaller than the photos had suggested. When I pointed this out I was told it was because I had a balcony instead. When I asked if I could switch the hotel staff obliged and even helped me transfer my luggage within minutes. What more could you ask? I experienced the same friendly and welcoming service from all hotel staff all week. The room was large, clean, comfortable and well appointed. The combo rain and hose shower was great, and the toiletries plentiful. The room was quiet and dark, although I found the bed to be on the hard side of comfort. There was the occasional aroma of drains, as other reviewers have mentioned, but that pervades the whole of Bangkok, not just the hotel. Wifi was reliable and included. I only had breakfast in the hotel one day and was rather disappointed. Insipid meats and limited choices of breads or pastries. But there is nice Beer Cafe next door which had good options. Location is great, with easy access to both underground and overground, nightlife (of the smutty variety and otherwise), and then to the airport. Not a great location for the historic and cultural sites in central Bangkok, however, since they require long hot walks or tedious taxi rides. Checkout at 1pm was a welcome option.
