Very Good8.0
Enjoyable stay at Hoshinoya
This was our first time in Tokyo and the location is ideal if traveling by train around the city with a dedicated elevator directly from the hotel to the station. The hotel was a good size with about six rooms per floor. The room was nicely designed and with a lot of attention to detail (such as TV screen in the mirror). Each floor had its own lounge with snacks and beverages available at anytime of day. The breakfast that was included in the room rate was simple - two rice balls and miso soup. There is an option to upgrade to a Japanese bento or western breakfast for an additional fee. The staff was friendly but some spoke limited English, which made it slightly difficult to communicate. You had to take off your shoes upon entry to the hotel and they were stored in the lobby. There were nice perks such as sake tasting every evening and use of an onsen on the top floor, which we did not take advantage of. Overall, a pleasant stay and would stay again on our next trip back to Tokyo.

Unique and Memorable Stay in Tokyo
Hoshinoya offers exceptional service and attention to detail. Rooms are tastefully decorated with a combination of modern and traditional Japanese elements. Guests have access to a hospitality area on their floor, which offers light refreshments each day. A hot spring facility is on the top floor of the hotel. Bilingual staff are readily available on each floor to assist guests with their travel questions. The hotel is located a few blocks from Tokyo Station, allowing convenient access to popular neighborhoods. There are a multitude of nearby dining options. We highly recommend a stay at Hoshinoya, for those who are interested in a unique and memorable stay in Tokyo.

Very nice area but also hidden in a quiet spot. Convenient but tranquil. One of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced.

Tranquility in the center of Tokyo
Great access to Tokyo station and Otemachi Station, and thus the rest of Tokyo. The room was quiet and surprisingly modern despite its traditional aesthetic. Great snacks and treats in the tea lounge on the floor. The hot springs are amazing and I visited at least twice a day.
