Unfortunately noisy.
We've stayed here before and LOVED it! Great staff, fine restaurant, 100 years of history and charm. A really unique experience. Looked forward to our stay---but there is construction next door which apparently just started before we arrived and will continue for some time. We are from the country and sensitive to noise, so our sleep was compromised. Nothing they could do about the noise, and we did not want to risk changing rooms and losing sleep. You might consider asking for rooms away from the construction if that would be a problem for you. As for us, after the construction is completed, we will be back, happily. Can't say enough good things except for that.

The best kept secret in DC...Excellent
This was one of the best choices I have ever made in a hotel. It is truly amazing from the décor to the ambiance. It is a favorite of the locals and a warm and inviting stay. The food in the restraint is superb and everyone is friendly. I will defiantly stay here again on my next visit. It is the best kept secret in DC.

Very Good 8.0
Old school hotel in heart of DC
This is not a conventional hotel. Staying here feels like going in a time machine back to, I don't know, the 50s maybe. I stayed in a room with a shared bathroom which could have been bad but it was totally fine. I didn't see anyone else using the bathroom the entire time I was there. The employees are lovely and the restaurant delicious.

Make it beautiful again
The location and staff were fantastic. They have cornered the market on great customer service. The actual Inn and furnishings are in desperate need of renovation. The sofas and chairs need to be reupholstered and chests and tables were missing pulls and knobs and badly scratched.
