Tiraspol doesn’t seem to have that many hotels and I guess this is a fair choice. The price when I booked was low, and the standard was ok.
It is not a luxury hotel for sure, but the staff is helpful and cleaning is good.
The room was kind of old fashioned and had nothing extra, and it was very warm since I didn’t get the air condition to work.
The swimming pool area looked nice, but wasn’t open. There was no water in the pool at all, but if you come in the middle of the summer, VVP Club might be a good choice.
There is no breakfast buffet. Instead the breakfast is made especially for you and brought to the table. Breakfast was nothing special. I wanted a glass of orange juice, and was charged about 0.50 euro extra for this. No big deal.
By far the biggest downside of this hotel is it’s location. The area is not very nice, and it’s far from central Tiraspol. However, the staff will order you a taxi and it always arrived quickly. Taxis to the city center is about 25-30 transnistrian rubles (1:50 euro).
When arriving to the hotel, I tried to use the local trolleybus (no 2), which was an experience. It was hard even for the locals to find the hotel, and you should have the hotel name and address written down in Russian language before trying to find the place by public transport. If not (or if you’re not a Russian speaker), finding the hotel will be an adventure, which you’re probably looking for anyway since you’re coming to Transnistria in the first place ;)
