Very nice hotel in great area near train station and metro. Also walked easily to top 3 museums in Madrid. Very helpful staff. Thank you to them.

I selected this hotel because of it's location. It is walking distance to El Prado, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, to only name a few. The service in the hotel is not very good with exception of Raul, and we considered changing to another location but on our second day Raul from the front desk was very helpful and courteous. His recommendations of local restaurants were on point, specially one in Plaza Mayor for dinner with Flamenco, which we enjoyed very much. This was our first time in Madrid and we needed a little guidance on how to get to many of the sites we wanted to visit in little time. The hotel does not have a iron in the room or any available for your personal use. The only option is to send it for service.

Quiet hotel near Atocha train station
I stayed for a quick overnight between cities. It is located across the street from the Aticha train station. It was extremely convenient for travelers. The staff was friendly, room clean, quiet area, but eateries close by. A/C was good. Would stay here again in the future.

Way too many stray hairs all over the room
I really liked this hotel. The location is great. Direct route to the airport and 20 minutes from Gran Via, with a lovely view overlooking a square. The only problem I had--and it's a big one or ones--was the amount of hair left in the entire room. I have a shaved head, so they were not mine. They were all over the bed covering, along many places on the floor and in the bathtub and sink. I was ok with the first few that I found, but there were over twenty hairs found throughout the space. A few hairs makes me question the cleanliness of the room. That many hairs convinces me that the room was not cleaned as it should be. It's a shame because there really was nothing else wrong with the room but it's the most important thing to get wrong.

Hotel Mediodia Madrid
My wife travels with a pair of white slippers that have to be laundered after hotel stays. Not after staying at the Hotel Mediodia because her slippers were like new when we left. The front desk staff, chambermaid and breakfast room folks were all friendly and helpful. This hotel is on a noisy street but the insulated glass windows kept our room quiet while the air conditioning kept the room comfortable. Our bathroom had all modern fixtures except for a traditional deep soaking tub that was appreciated after walking miles each day. Atocha Station is across a 10 lane street and provides direct connection to the airport, Chamartin Station and many cities. Hotel Mediodia is in the art museum triangle and in a neighborhood with lots of stores and restaurants. We will be staying there again before we fly home because the airport connection is so quick and convenient.
