Pretty good
Our stay was great until we wanted to sleep on Saturday night and the DJ was playing. It was thumping in our room and smelled of cigarettes so strongly we couldn’t sleep. It’s a little strange trying to get into the hotel past the bouncers when you’re staying there but otherwise, the hotel was great.

Great hotel location but rooms are small
Was there during Halloween week. They had an amazing party at the hotel. It turned to a night club. Was first given a noisy room despite being very specific before arrival and in an email that I want a quiet room. Thankfully, they found me a better quieter room that also happened to be a bit more spacious although still quite small. The big advantage for us was the location of the hotel. The staff was pleasant overall.

Lovely space & staff but there are better options
Overall the hotel was a fun experience. Although I’m not sure we’d stay here again. I LOVED the greenery but sound carries easily and early morning/late nights can be annoying with normal activity from the restaurant. The staff is lovely and beyond accommodating. Charlie is a star and was always going above and beyond. There systems seem to not be connected which is very frustrating as a guest. I had housekeeping banging at my door at 11:05 telling me I missed checkout when my account had a guaranteed late 1pm checkout. Another hiccup at checkout when they claimed I had a balance from the restaurant when I paid at the bar at the time of dining. Again, little deals but pretty frustrating for a traveler.

Mysterious and exclusive hotel
Absolutely fabulous. Came to London for sights and fun, this hotel delivered. Everyone was welcoming and lovely to speak with. The staff made every accommodation and went above and beyond to insure we felt special. Made tons of friends in the bar every night, great exclusive scene. Love the eclectic decor and cool art. Or room was spotless and filled with every necessity. Only ate at the restaurant only once but it was a 5 Star meal. The morning coffee and tea were perfect as were the gluten-free options. Already thinking of a return. Highly recommend this sexy little hotel.

Chic Boutique Hotel in Excellent Central Location
The Mandrake was in a great area - super walkable to Oxford Street, Soho and more. Hotel itself was super cool with a great vibe - the guest only bar area on the second floor was a great place to hang out. Highly recommend.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff very kind but unfortunately for $400+ per night, the experience was underwhelming.

Probably a 5* hotel...just not for my stay
The Mandrake hotel is probably a five star hotel; we just didn't get that comfort while staying here. The Mandrake rooms are very dark and the lighting in the room doesn't help. In addition, some of the lights in the room wouldn't turn on. Amenities like an alarm clock and a coffee maker were not in the room. The first night the smell of cigarette smoke filled the room. Called reception and they said they would "send someone to look into it." The next two nights the same thing happened. We finally got moved to another room because the smoke was unbearable. The hotel said they could move us but that, "it would be a hassle." You know what a hassle is? Having to inhale smoke for almost three nights straight and feel sick. These are non-smoking rooms, yet there is still smoke getting into the rooms...? This hotel is probably a five star hotel, but I can't say that my stay here was five star worthy. The best amenity to come out of this experience was the free breakfast. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. Also, the location of the hotel is near three underground stations for easy travel (Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus, and Goodge Street). If you take anything away from this review: 1) make sure to get a room away from the "smoking area" and 2) get the free breakfast.
