Having checked in at 6pm was told linen was still being changed. Got back at midnight to find still no sheets or towels. Took another 45 minutes to get this done as I was only one of many in a similar situation and there was only one person on duty.

The best thing going for this property is its central location. It was very easy to get around the city centre from here. And that was the main reason we booked it, along with the price as well. However, when we arrived around 9:30pm there was another woman trying to get into the property. She had also just arrived & was having no luck getting hold of anyone to let her into the building. Thankfully, someone was leaving & so let us all in. The other lady had been phoning a number she had & there was no answer. We got inside & there was no one around & no way of gaining access into the part of the building that looked like an empty reception. My husband hunted around the halls until he found someone who must have worked there & who managed to find the young lady who should have been there to check us in. Not what you want when you're expecting check-in to be open until 10pm & are waiting to go out for food. We were there for 2 nights & hardly slept. All of the doors are heavy fire doors & it seems no one has any regard for anyone else in the building & there were doors slamming all night! Also, despite the weather (we'd had some rain), it was boiling in our room. Don't forget TOILET ROLL - there was none in the room when we were finally given our key. There is a Tesco Express nearby thankfully, but again I had no idea this would be the case.

Great location but not very comfortable.
The location of John Bell is amazing, especially given the price you pay however the accomidation is very basic with uncomfortable beds and very warm temperatures at night. We were only able to gain access to the reception area as someone else was leaving the building- we had tried to call reception but no one answered. All the staff we met were very friendly and the room/ kitchen area was very clean but I wouldn't stay here for longer than a night or too.

very bad quality, no clean at all , i bought antibacterial liquid to clean the bathroom , just the mattress protector nothing to cover the bed !!! room absolutely dirty , no hot water and radiator was off the 3 rd day, i spoke already with the customer service and i want a refund , they don't deserve my money , my body is full of spots because of the dirty room , was like a prison without anything inside!! not happy at all

Cheaper than the hotels but don't expect too much comfort. The bed is quite uncomfortable, no soap for the bathroom, no towels unless you ask. Ok for one night coming back from the pub a bit drunk.
