"Good hotel Except for Weird Toilet Instructions"
This hotel offered a good-sized room in a location very near the Night Bazaar, full of activity, though I got lost twice in my two-night stay, accounting for the varied exits and the lack of English-speaking "helpers" I encountered. My fault, but trace your steps before entering. The staff ranged from indifferent to very helpful, with Nicole in the evening shift the best. I learned they offered free shuttle to the airport and booked it the day before, but double checked with Nicole, who saw that the morning guy hadn't entered it. She corrected it. She also helped me contact a free number in the States, not easy to do, because the dialing system in the rooms didn't allow it. As a matter of fact it was difficult to call reception from the room. The TV had zillions of channels but few in English and no CNN or BBC. Only Fox News! That was a mistake. My main complaint is the bathroom. It was okay, with shower off to the side, but there was a note by the toilet admonishing us to put our USED toilet paper in the trash bin instead of flushing it. I found this disgusting, and, while I attempted it once, I thought it was ridiculous, even though staff said they did this at home (I don't believe it!). I've never seen this in ANY hotel before or since and tested the toilet with a few sheets to see if it would flush. It did and I never followed their "rules again." It ruined an otherwise good stay at a comfortable hotel with pool and gym.

Fantastic location, and fantastic staff.
Except for the front desk, the staff were brilliant. The only downside of our 3 week stay was having to put lavatory paper into a bin rather than into the toilet (see attached photo).

Thai character throughout
Had a great stay at the NightBazaar Inn hotel. Located very near the Chiang Mai night bazaar it was easily walkable to not only the bazaar but many shops, restaurants, and bars. If you can’t find something to do here it’s on you, not your location. The exterior of the hotel is Thai style which has great character. The rooms thankfully are upgraded to fairly modern standards. I’m not a fan of the bathroom style (open shower concept, at least in my room) but it actually works well here so I won’t ding it as a negative. The breakfast was what you would find in a typical Thai hotel. Since it’s a small hotel the selection is not as broad as the larger hotels but sufficient none the less. All the standard items (for this region of the world) were there. Staff was always pleasant and helpful and housekeeping did a fine job. Parking is limited but the staff takes care of any parking issues so the guests don’t have to deal with them. Overall a very nice stay and I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Great hotel but needs work on customer service
This is a lovely hotel, in a great location with smaller very clean rooms, with lots of character. The male morning shift at the front desk is rude, disrespectful and not helpful at all. They were busy on their phones, watching music videos on the computer while eating and ignored you. “Tattoo” is the rudest, and acted like we bothered him when we asked him to check on our ride to the airport that was already 15 minutes late. Unfortunately, that same male crew was on shift every morning and we realized that when we asked for a shuttle upon our arrival, that same morning crew did not read our email after sending the flight detail information 4 times, so we took our own taxi. However, the female evening staff were friendly, engaging and extremely helpful. Our thanks go out to JuJuBee, who was the main staff member in the evening we enjoyed working with. I would definitely stay here again because of the location...and there’s a place to book tours and do laundry right next door. See Uncle Tao..very trustworthy and will not book you a tour without having first hand knowledge of that tour. My fiancé did this extreme off road bike ride from a company that Uncle Tao had never used before. So Uncle Tao went with him! Making sure that company was as trustworthy as he is. Overall, great 3 week trip through Southeast Asia...loved Chiang Mai. But the hotel should really reconsider having Tattoo at the front desk...

Over booked hotel
I booked a suite and it was paid for prior to arrival, however when I tried to check in the room was unavailable. The hotel was booked full so I had to get a refund and find another hotel. Hotels.com needs to improve their booking process.
