Stay away from My Place
The general manager called me the day of to let me know they were overbooked and had no room for me. I had made my reservations 3 weeks earlier. I had make other arrangements that day while the Iowa state fair was going on, and rooms were almost all gone. Hotels.com did assist me, but I won’t book with My Place again.

When we arrived the room wasn’t ready. Once it was ready, we walked into the room and it had a horrible smell. We couldn’t get another room because none was available.

This is my first stay My Place hotels and if the rest were like this, I would highly recommend. Sierra at check in was very accommodating to my need for a close accessible room. She was also very informative about the restaurants and area. Pleasant and professional. The room was VERY clean with kitchenette, full size refrigerator and stove top. There were soap and paper towels provided, but no cooking or dishware. Linens were very nice and beds were comfortable. Good size room with plenty of space even with 2 Queens and a table and chairs. Nice cold AC. Room was quiet and it was next to lobby. The only negative was some road construction adjacent to hotel and breakfast is not included. But coffee was always fresh and available plus there were plenty of snack options for purchase. Kathy at check out was very pleasant too. I would recommend this hotel and will use it again if I'm traveling through the Des Moines area.

Nice, quiet hotel with a little pond nearby with picnic tables. Friendly staff and managers, would work directly with them again next time. Nice rooms with full size fridge and freezer, table with two chairs, and a recliner. Bed was cozy, AC adequate. Road/outside noises very minimal. Pet friendly but doesn't smell like pets.
