Poor customer service
Quintessa just opened 9/15/2017 (1 year ago) so everything is very aesthetically appealing. There's a nice walkway leading up to the hotel, a comfortable waiting area in the lobby, and a comfy coffee shop with sofas in the lobby. Everything looks clean and new in the rooms as well. Size wise it's mediocre. Not cramped enough to cause claustrophobia but not a hotel room I would want to lounge around in. The room itself could use more lighting as it is very dim even with all the available lights on. Walls are rather thin. I can hear my neighbors. The main reason I gave this hotel a bad review was the lack of quality customer service. The worker rushed me through check in in a very brisk manner barely stopping to catch a breath. Later on when I came back to ask a different clerk to help me make a dinner reservation I was again treated poorly. The male worker asked the female worker if he could help me. The female did not lift her head up to look me or her coworker in the eye and simply shook her head all while staring down. So the male worker told me NO. The hotel industry is all about hospitality and helping out of town guests (who most likely can not speak Japanese and will need help) enjoy their stay. They were unwilling to help. Keep in mind this was at 7:30pm , there was nobody checking in or out and it was not a busy time.

Good location. New hotel.
Location was good. Clean and new hotel. The only feedback I can highlight was every morning the staff will knock at your door around 9am asking what time they can clean your room which I find it annoying.

Nice, quiet hotel 5 mins from all the action
Quintessa is a nice hotel to stay at close to Shinsaibashi station. We booked a double room, and while the rooms/bathrooms are quite cramped, they were sufficient enough for our stay since we did not plan on staying in the room much. This location is great, off on a quiet side street but with dozens of restaurants around the corner and a 5 minute walk to the station and all the busy shops. Best part it was a 3 minute walk from Ichiran Ramen. Staff was nice and spoke English well, they were able to check us into our room a little bit early.

Exceptional 10.0
We enjoyed staying in this hotel. Hotel provides a great breakfast selection and good location. Things need to be imporoved is Replaced the 2 in 1 washing machine into a separate washer and dryer. 2 in 1 machine cost us more money and longer time to do our laundry.
