Fancy rooms, missing helpful touches
Centrally located hotel, few minutes walk to bus stop 3 for excursion pick ups, and harbour for whale watching. Hotel was spotless, room cleaned and fresh towels daily. Breakfast of bacon/eggs/cereals/fruit/pastries which was fresh and delicious. Room was very impressive at first glance but has minimal storage and lots of wasted space eg a writing desk and chair with shelves and books where perhaps a well lit mirror instead could have provided a dressing table which would have been more useful as the only mirror was in the bathroom. A full length mirror would also be good. Also nowhere to hang your wet coats, so have to drape them over the leather sofas. My main issue was at check in, the lady at reception checked us in then dropped the key cards down and said that’s it you’re checked in- didn’t even say which room number we were in, no direction to the room, no information on breakfast time, checkout time, the free drink available to guests or the bath house. overall a lovely hotel, in a great location, looks impressive but missing some helpful touches.

Everything happens for a reason. They helped!
This hotel was absolutely perfect for what we needed at a great cost. We were staying over night due to France Train Strikes that pushed our flights out and detoured us for the night in Reykjavik. This turned out to be a great layover location. We walked in, greeted with a smile, and explained all the amenities/perks of the hotel. We went up to our room and got more than we asked for. We asked for a deluxe king room. The bed was almost more than a king. It felt like a cloud! The room smelled amazing. Super clean and relaxing. The shower was perfect. The separated bathroom sections were phenomenal. This hotel is perfectly located as well next to a ton of restaurants, museums, and the water. What a perfect place! We will absolutely be booking here again when we return to Reykjavik!
