    Awesome Hotel!

Just as great as the last time I stayed. The Candy Bar was a cute little bar we didn’t get to experience last time because of covid restrictions. We highly recommend staying. Central location, close to Comarica Park and Ford Field.

  • 6.0.Good

Not bad, but certainly not great

The Siren Hotel definitely has a funky vibe, which I like. As soon as you enter the lobby, it's an eclectic mix of old Hollywood and tiki lounge. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are a couple of things, however, I was less than thrilled with. 1) The incense smell in the lobby is offensive/overpowering. I hate to sound like the "get off my lawn guy" but honestly it was disgusting. My 18 yo son was completely put off. 2) The room wasn't cleaned! I've stayed in quite a few hotels since COVID started, and they all seem to be providing room service again. Not sure what happened there. We were gone for 8+ hours, so there was plenty of time. 3) The hotel provides shampoo/soap pumps in the shower. I find this a bit unhygienic (at least it feels that way) and the products were low quality. The shampoo didn't foam and smelled pretty much like the lobby. 4) This might be the first time I couldn't eat breakfast in a hotel at which I was a resident. We went to the restaurant on the 2nd floor to have breakfast on a Sunday and were told that unless we had a reservation the wait was over an hour. When we checked in I asked if breakfast was served on site. At no point was I advised that reservations were required. In fact, after we had eaten outside the hotel, we walked back past the restaurant on our way to the room (about 1 hour later) and there were more empty tables still than taken. Strange.

    Great location in Downtown Detroit

I really enjoyed the hotel, specially the cool lobby and the Candy Bar. Service was great and the location is super convenient for anything Downtown Detroit. I was a little disappointed by the size of the room, but it was large enough.

Only downfalls, rooms are small. There is only one ice machine and its in the basement. There is also no vending machines which mainly we were looking for drinks and they only had fancy glassed water for $5. We had to walk blocks over to a 7-11 which was not convenient at all. Other than that, the hotel is very cool! All staff were very nice, well kept up. Karl's was awesome also!
