True Three Star Hotel with Nice Touches
I was pleasantly surprised by some of the nice touches by this budget friendly hotel. The hotel is located about 5 mins from a metro stop in an ethnically diverse neighborhood and felt very safe. Lots of variety of food selections and no lack of convenience stores. I’m very averse to noise so was very glad I got a room on the highest floor - 6th level. Nice touches - recently remodeled, great bed & sheets, 3 rooms in my “wing” were sealed by a door so had good buffer from elevator & stairwell noises, in room AC/heat control that was really quiet, great bed & sheets, roomy shower (no tubs) with modern fixtures, ample hot water, unlimited water bottles available in a fridge on first floor & breakfast included. The two slanted windows were functional which is great to let out steam from a hot shower. Best of all - heated tile floor in the bathroom. Can’t tell you what a luxury that is. Few things to consider - because I chose the top floor, one side of the ceiling was slanted (common for Paris buildings). For taller people, there’s a good chance of knocking your head. It also made for a tricky entry into the shower. The room size was sufficient for one person - could be tight for two. No closet - an open rack to hang clothes which was fine for me. No balcony nor outdoor space (the windows do open). The elevator is super tiny. The only improvement. The towels were really rough. For a hotel that paid attention to many other things, this was glaring.

Local feel, easy eats
The La Nouvelle Republique is a modest yet excellently operated hotel. The rooms are small which is normal for Paris but my wife and I upgraded to a larger size room which was absoutlely fine. The hotel offers a great French style of a continental breakfast with good coffee, lots of breads and jams and hard boiled eggs and cold meats and of course wonderful croissants! This was a definite bonus for us and the made the morning of each day a pleasant and relaxing way to get ready for the tourist experience. The hotel staff speak English enough that it is easy to communicate any needs and they were super friendly. The hotel was clean and our room was cleaned promptly every day. The hotel is located in an area of Paris where there are lots of bars and restaurants with the locals out in mass celebrating the summer weather. The subway system close everywhere and easy to use but if you like to walk as we do, you can do so to many of the popular sites but take a map as the streets have a habit of changing names at times. However, you need to like walking as the Louvre is about an hour’s walk away. All told, a great place to stay for a small family or couples and we very much enjoyed our stay at the Republique,

3 Night Stay in Paris
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while exploring Paris. The place appears to be primarily a restaurant and secondarily a hotel. Due to an early flight, we got in before our check in time. They stored our luggage while we explored the city. The hotel is about a 5-7 minute walk between either the Menilmontant and the Couronnes Metro stations. The area around the hotel is not great - dirty, sketchy people and dimly lit streets in the evenings - but it's okay for it's value and distance to the Metro. The room itself was small - bed, two side tables, dresser, rod for hanging clothes and a small bathroom BUT we were able to control our own air conditioning which was nice. The bed was comfortable, WiFi was fast and it had an elevator. Breakfast in the morning was tasty - pastries, bread, jam, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cereal and fruit and we had free access to the coffee machine at all hours. The hotel staff were difficult to come by and were frequently away from the small lobby doing other tasks. They called a cab for us and it arrived promptly the next morning.

Great Boutique Hotel in a Really Cool Area
Great new boutique hotel in a very interesting, very lively, very un-touristy part of Paris. The rooms are cute, the breakfast was tasty, and all the staff were extremely helpful. The only reason I'm not giving the place a perfect score across the board is that their fire alarm system kept going off for no apparent reason the first night we were there, which was really annoying. According to the staff this had never happened before, however, and they immediately called a technician who came in and dealt with it the following morning. Plus, I thought they dealt with the situation really well--very professional, obviously concerned with safety first, sincerely apologetic and quick to assure us that if it continued to happen they'd reimburse us and make arrangements to move us to a different hotel at their expense, etc. So I really can't fault them too much, even though it was profoundly irritating. Indeed, I'd happy stay at the Nouvelle Reuplic Hotel again.

Great Stay in Paris
Stayed here for NYE and we were very pleased. Newly opened it is modern, unique and staff are very friendly. Close to transport links, shops and restaurants near by. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was great which gave us a little bit more room. The room was well furnished and had a USB socket so you did not have to worry if you did not bring an adapter. Bathroom was on the small side but manageable. Water, tea and coffee were available all day which was really good. Staff also offered champagne to guests as it was NYE's. My only negative would be the breakfast as we booked this hotel as it had breakfast included. Although it had croissants, bread, fruit, cereal and fresh juice this did get a boring after the second day. Overall, I would stay here again if ever in Paris.
