Out of Business
This hotel is no longer in business. They moved my travel partner and I to the KEX Hostel. Not the experience we were hoping for.

Quiet and budget friendly Iceland explorers
Good location: short walk to grocery stores, subway next door and a dominos down the street, walking path next to the water. If you are a budget traveler, buy your food at the grocery store but skip the bottled still water because you can drink straight from the tap...Iceland is known for their glacial water. Bring a plug adapter type C or F.

Hostel life
Good deal for the price. Breakfast was very good. Great location. Free yoga class. Great wifi reception. Helpful staff. My room didn’t smell great but would stay here again.

It's a hostel and it feels like one
We stayed in the private hostel room. It was an ok place to sleep, I guess. Just a concrete room. The bathrooms were down the hall, which was fine but they weren't the cleanest. Even after the woman came to clean them there was still hair on the shower floor. The location is a little bit out of the way as well, about a mile and a half from the BSI bus terminal. Checkout is at 10 am, and I think if you want to use their lockers you need your own lock.

An inexpensive, but nice hostel
The Oddsson is a good place to stay at an affordable price in Reykjavik especially is you are traveling alone or with one other person. We stayed in a dorm room with five bunk beds. There was limited privacy but each bunk had an outlet and a light and a small closet (bringing a small lock is a good idea). The bathrooms could have been cleaner or rather cleaned more often, but they weren't gross, just unattended I think. The common kitchen seemed well stocked with cooking items, but we didn't use them. The downstairs staff was friendly. There is a continental breakfast available for an extra charge. We didn't eat because we thought it was expensive, but a simple pastrty and coffee from next door came to more than half the cost of the breakfast so maybe not so expensive. Anyway, it's a good place to stay. Also the location is great, right next to the water. Very pretty views.
