We stayed 2 nights at the Sapa Clay House in late September 2019. We had one of the private bungalows. Every picture you see on their site is exactly what you will find. The location is fantastic, the view is spectacular, and the rooms are wonderful. We loved our room. It is very cozy and rustic. Everything looked wonderful from the bamboo to the tapestry on the ceiling. Waking up in the morning and walking onto the balcony and seeing the entire Sa Pa valley is quite spectacular. Breakfast Pho’ and French toast were great and to watch the care the staff takes to ensure the food looks perfect was quite amazing. Dinner at the Sapa Clay House is also great. The hotel is out of the city a few km (which is the #1 reason to stay there) and as such dinner in the hotel makes the most sense to avoid traveling to town. But honestly the dinners are extremely well priced, and gourmet prepared. We stayed one night in town and considered traveling back to SaPa Clay house for dinner and one more night of the view. Everyone mentions the dogs which are well behaved. We also were very grateful for the hotel to arrange a hike through SaPa as well as a day tour to Tien Sa Waterfall, and Fansipan. We would highly recommend staying here….it is a beautiful location, quiet and serene. September is a great time to travel to SaPa. Thanh and Robert

Family run business in a most magical location and amazing views. Lovely family that’s most welcoming and attentive. Dint have the best experience with Expedia as an intermediary in all honesty but ended up dealing with hotel directly and having a wonderful experience and stay. Book directly with them and it’s even cheaper! 😉

The Sapa Clay House was one of the most amazing places I have been. The views are incredible. No picture can do it justice. We stayed in one of the private hut rooms with an outdoor bath tub. Spectacular. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The massages were great, as was the food. I could not recommend this place more. Sapa Clayhouse set us up with a guide for trekking to Lao Chai and Ta Van. This was one of the best experiences my wife and I ever had. We unfortunately did not have time to trek to the big waterfall. I don’t understand how this place has any bad reviews on trip adviser. The people who wrote those must have been absolutely terrible because everything about this hotel and the staff was outstanding. We can’t wait to come back.

Great place to stay if you want to hike (trek) around the area. Away from the Sapa tourist spots/crowds

Our experience at Sapa Clay House was absolutely wonderful! The staff went above and beyond with their hospitality and professionalism, the food was delicious (and the cooking class was a blast!), our bungalow was very cozy, and the views from our bungalow were breathtakingly gorgeous! It was also nice to be right outside of Sapa, away from the bustle. It was definitely a lovely retreat I would repeat!

We stayed at Sapa Clay House for 2 nights. The weather wasn't too good for us but that didn't stop us from enjoying the beautiful hotel. We rented a private hut which was just lovely and tastefully decorated. It is a family run hotel and everyone is ready to tend to your needs. The staff put thoughtful touches in everything they do. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant and the food was also fantastic. There is no need to eat anywhere else. The view was just breathtaking even in the fog and rain. If you want to have a peaceful/quality time in Sapa, stay at this hotel. We'd definitely come back here.

This is honestly the best hote I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are kind and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The views and location are unparalleled. The food in the restaurant is delicious and locally sourced. And the rooms are clean, comfortable, and really beautiful. Would highly recommend staying here.
