Good location but wirh street noise.
People will like this location if you don't mind the noise downstairs on a busy street.

Low cost equals low quality
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Small bathroom, small beds, old building.

Good for a budget hotel
I suppose the lack of a view was an unforeseen benefit. Our room faced a blank wall. On the other hand, rooms overlooking the street will be subject to the noise. But, do not take a room on the 5th floor else you will have to climb stairs from the 4th floor. The extremely warm weather added to our discomfort as it was impossible to effect a draught in the room lacking an air conditioner. The fan made a feeble attempt at cooling our perspiring bodies but to no avail. We also found blood on our linen - blood that belonged to us because bedbugs had decided to feast on us. As we left, we saw the bug scuttling across sheets. I hasten to say that this is a simple matter to rectify; a good fumigation will solve the problem and it does occur in even the best of hotels. Finally, the lack of coffee making facilities in the room is a major failing. There is a restaurant downstairs but one does not want to climb a couple of flights of stairs to buy coffee intended to be enjoyed first thing in the morning. Breakfast was adequate with boiled eggs on offer as well as yoghurt, bread, a fruit or two. The Doria is a budget hotel and its main attraction is its location close to the Central Station and other attractions. Do not, however, expect the Ritz - and, certainly, I have stayed in worse establishments in San Francisco that were more expensive.
