Hansar Samui Resort & Spa, Koh Samui

All rooms are technically “Seaview” as the complex is a “C” shape and opens to the beach/water. Disappointed that the staff couldn’t do more to help us celebrate our 50th birthdays. We reserved 2 “Seaview” rooms - one “suite” and one “regular” room. After Check-in, Our attendant took my husband and I to the smaller of the two rooms which the hotel staff had placed a heart of petals with a “15” in the center of the bed. Would have been lovely had they put us in the suite they had taken our teenage daughters. Of course, they left us to figure that all out and move the girls to their room and us to the suite. When asked if we could upgrade the girls room, complete run around, no fix, nothing. Why they would have thought that we would have wanted the smaller room is mind boggling. We probably paid more than we should have for both rooms and this was very disappointing start to our stay at Hansar. All of this after multiple messages about the 50th celebration we planned to have during our stay. Clearly lost in translation. Positives - waitstaff at breakfast and the pool were attentive and friendly throughout entire stay. The proximity to the village was great.

First we were picked up by a van instead of a private car which was requested for. The room given to us had a musky odour. It looked tired & in dire need of a make-over. The phone in the room was in need of de-sanitising as it not only looked filthy, it smelt horrible too! The mattress was so soft that we sank into it while sitting or lying on it. We requested for a room change and managed to get one the next day. The only saving grace was the size of the TV & the beautiful view! The pool was packed and so were the limited deck chairs by the beach. The beach area is meant for hotel guests but you get day trippers sharing it with you. One even had the audacity to use the deck chair! There was no staff or security to see to such people. It was hard to get the attention of the staff when on the beach as they were hardly patrolling it to attend to us. The breakfast was a good spread of international & local choices. The staff at the restaurant were ever so pleasant. The hotel has a lot of potential but needs to be refurbished & improved in many ways if it wishes to uphold the reputation it once had!

As soon as we arrived via shuttle for 250 baht for 2 people, we were greeted by the front desk staff with fresh juice. Our room was amazing with an amazing ocean view and pool view and balcony. The king bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was open so privacy was non existent, but the shower was large. Everything was modern, traditions Thai, and luxurious. The only complaint was the water pressure wasn't so great. But it still got the job done. The breakfast buffet had good choices from local fruit to pastries to hot dinner items. You can also order off of a breakfast menu. The Spa was amazing!! I paid about the same price as I would back home for an hour massage but it was the BEST massage I've ever had. I returned the next evening for another session. I got the body scrub the next visit which was awesome! I recommend the head massage where they also treat your hair with coconut oil. Great resort. I will certainly be staying again.

This hotel was on great location, very near the Fishermans Village. Very near the beach were it some nights were arranged cinema with great movies. Cheweng beach and Silver beach was prettier but the beach outside the hotel was very clean! The room was very nice and clean and the big shower was so cool. SO comfortable beds and cheats! Amazing view from the room and a huge balcony. We spend a lot of time there eating fruit from the market! The cleaning was two times a day and they always left fresh water in bottles and chocolates. We had also a great experience with the staff, specially one very nice lady by the name ING. She helped us with everything we needed such as renting a motorbike, taxi to the airport and other trips to nearest islands. Very clean gym and great breakfast with very good and various egg alternativs and waffles/pancakes! Overall it was a great stay and if we ever visit Samui again we will definitely come back here!

Amazing location and property, better if there is a small area for kids club so we shall keep the kids occupied. The staff (especially male) normally provide friendly service and smile during breakfast or at the beach bar while the female look very busy and better to put up more smiles on the face, this shall be more charming (except receptionist whom are always great). But overall is fine. Will come back anytime soon if there is a chance. But please fix your location on facebook immediately, we almost missed the meeting as the location lead us to wrong place in Chaweng. Oh, thank you for the anniversary bed (yet we found big worm on the bed, i doubt he must love the rose lol) And for housekeeping attendant, better if the tea cup could be cleaned up after use. Yet, the rest is very good! thank you housekeeping attendant for making our room great!
