Exceptional 10.0
Surprisingly clean and comfortable
It looked small and dubious outside with not much of a lobby inside but our room as surprisingly big w a queen sized bed w good quality sheets. The bathroom was also refurbished and clean. It was not noisy too despite being next to the street. The staff were helpful and friendly and obliged us w our request to have breakfast to go. Their wifi was also pretty fast, relatively since they're on a fiber network. Hotel is walking distance to Robinsons mall and Adriatico circle. Over-all, a surprisingly pleasant stay.

Very Good 8.0
The bed was sooooo comfortable, weekend street noise was a bit much since a hotel/casino is next door but still a good place to stay. Robinson mall a big but older mall is very close. Easily can walk there in 5 minutes.

Would never stay here again
Most important factor for hotel of this type and this location is street noise. In room at La Scala, it sounded like the trikes and jeepneys were driving right through the room. Impossible to get a nights’ sleep. This level of noise can be found in a 1000 peso hotel while La Scala is triple that. They do have rooms — 201 and 301 — dark, dank, small, almost wndowless little caves not pictured — which may be quieter. Restaurant ouso buco smothered in barbeque sauce, while spaghetti was overcooked probably warmed over: hardly edible at 450 pesos per. There’s an extensive collection of kitsch, if that’s your kind of decor. Name of hotel derived from the fact there’s no elevator in the building.
