The Five Bells, Sandwich
Highly recommended
My wife and I stayed 2 nights while in the area for a friends wedding. We had a great time and were very well looked after by the team here. The comfy bed, powerful shower and the very clean bathroom were particularly impressive. The pub itself is a charming venue with good beer and a friendly atmosphere. We both had the cooked breakfast that was included and it was delicious. Our special requests such as early check out were handled very well too. Certainly worth checking out!

Friendly staff but a little tired
The staff were very friendly and helpful and I can recommend the pie (very tasty). The also accomodated the fact that I needed an early breakfast (7.30) instead of the 8 am start which was appreciated- thank you, The room itself was a little dated and some might not like the rustic feel ( a far cry from some of the more modern hotels). May be I did not read the specifics in enough detail as the bathroom although not shared was accessed down a corridor rather than an ensuite. Overall a pleasant stay,

The freindly Five Bells
This is a little pub with three rooms. I've stayed twice now and for my visit, it is convenient and great value. The rooms have been clean and comfortable although the showers can be a bit tricky with their temperature controls and can get very hot. There is a warning about this but I'd be careful with your kids in them! There is some parking out the front and wifi in the pub via the Cloud service but I had little use as the system was poor. There was a good 3G/4G signal so I managed with that. The menu is typical pub fare with big portions at very reasonable prices. It isn't the most inspiring choice though! However, it was nicely cooked and tasty. You get a very warm and welcoming greeting on arrival and it's a pleasant place to stay with some good beers on tap.

Five Bells B&B
Good hearty freshly cooked breakfast. Great shower. Although next to the road it was quiet without much traffic noise. Did not eat there in the evening. Good position to travel north and south. Nice cycling area.
