About this home

The health and safety of our guests is our number one priority. We try to minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via a lockboxe. Plus, our expert cleaning procedures are in line with current CDC guidelines.

The Bears Den is a secluded cabin nestled on a hillside in the midst of tall pines and beautiful aspens, just 10 minutes from the historic mining and casino town of Cripple Creek. Enjoy magnificent views of Mt. Pisgah and surrounding mountain ranges from every window. We have made the Den very cozy with its 3 bedrooms, 3 queen sized beds and one queen sofa bed in the living room, 2 baths, a game room, and a back deck with a grill and seating. It has a wood stove in the living room and amazing views. Special touches from Renee and Michael make your romantic getaway or family stay an unforgettable experience.

Whether you use The Bears Den as a base for exploring the surrounding small towns and nature adventures, or as a spot to just sit and relax in the midst of the pines and aspens and enjoy the wind through the trees, we know you will come away from your stay refreshed and relaxed. You will surely appreciate the less crowded roads, the offbeat little stores and old mining towns, and all the opportunities for natural adventures in a part of the state far less familiar to many visitors to Colorado.

Did I mention the views? Just imagine sitting on the deck having your morning cup of coffee while soaking up the warm Colorado sunshine and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and trees. This is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. Lots of places for hiking, even just stepping out of the cabin is an amazing place to hike and take in the views.

Located within 5 miles of groceries, restaurants, and gas stations. We are located not far from Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek, Woodland Park and Manitou Springs/Garden of the Gods. If you’re looking to venture even further, drive 50 miles to Colorado Springs( an hour drive) or 80 miles to Breckenridge (an hour and twenty minutes), a beautiful ski resort town.

The Bears Den highlights one of Colorado's attractions that is often overlooked: a true mountain life experience.

The Bears Den is a secluded house/cabin in the mountains near Cripple Creek. Our Den is your home away from home, fully stocked with all necessities. We provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, lots of coffees and tea, board games, books, adult and child coloring books.

You can reach us at any time and we are really glad to have you as our guest.

The Cripple Creek area is a secluded and mountainous region rich with wildlife--we have recently seen several foxes, a family of mountain sheep, and a mother black bear with two cubs! Neighbors have reported seeing bobcats. Local ranches feature llamas and horses, and the idyllic quiet of the Rampart Range, with surprise views of Pikes Peak during the short excursions you can make to Colorado Springs, as well as local towns like Florissant, Divide, and Woodland Park. The area between Cripple Creek and Florissant is one of our favorite places because it includes the Fossil Beds National Monument, a green space and reserve of 6000 acres that will never be developed. The park is a very interesting day trip for adults and kids alike, and as you enter Florissant there is even a shop where you can sit and search through shale brought in for your own real fossils (taken from the Monument by careful

extraction, the only spot in the US that allows this activity).

We are available for guest contact at any time. There is a lockbox on the door. You will be given a code when you book and will be able to check in by yourself.

We loved this property. A nice, quiet, out of the way place to stay. The cabin was decorated so cute and had all of the extras that one might forget to pack. Renee even left my husband a birthday cake for his special day. We will, for sure, be booking this property again.

Couldn't have rented a better cabin!!

This cabin was just as advertised but totally exceeded our expectations!! Location was perfect. It was off the beaten path, quiet, clean, homey. There were five adults in our group and plenty of room. Renee quickly answered any questions I had prior to our arrival and went out of her way to make us feel welcome by having treats for us when we arrived. The house is very well equipped with anything you might need, all you have to do is bring the food. You will be surprised at how stocked even the kitchen is with plenty of spices and such. We look forward to returning and staying even longer next time!!!!

    B-day fun for Dad

AWESOME!! I have stayed many places and this place has everything you need and some extras. She had spices, oil, cereal, eggs, butter, condiments and more. Large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, extra linen, towels, you name it this place was pretty stocked. Went to have coffee on the balcony and it was super quite and peaceful, we even had little visitors in the morning (deer) :) Even though it wasn't snowy, i would suggest a SUV on truck, road is well maintained but still a dirt road. directions are right on and the cabin is about 10/15 minutes to town. The decor of the cabin is super cute and fitting for the bears den. The down stairs area has a game area that you can put a cot in for an extra bed and/or extra toys for the kids. Overall an excellent stay and we will keep this in our notes for future visits

Every possible detail was planned very well.

Would recommend the Bears Den to everyone. The supplies and special treats provided, went way beyond our expectations. The surrounding beauty and nature were even more available from the Bears Den. The hostess, Renee, could not have been more helpful. Thank You for this special place for my entire family of six. We were not in Kansas anymore!
