Comfortable stay at The English Inn
My 12-year-old niece and I stayed at The English Inn on Friday, May 24, 2018. Our room was ready upon arrival (around 3 PM), and it was comfortable. The Inn has a quaint, idyllic appearance, which my niece really enjoyed. It was close by to many restaurants and a Wegman's grocery store. It was easy to access from the highway. The breakfast in the morning was adequate - your standard fare. It was nice to have some hot options. We really enjoyed having the indoor pool. The pool water was a little murky, suggesting the pool filter might have needed updating or the pool needed a good clean. We aren't too picky, but it would have been nicer to have clearer water. That said, it didn't stop us from swimming and having a great time. If we were in the area, we would stay here again.

The inn is lovely in appearance, however there is an underlying musty odor throughout, that was overlaid with the scent of some type of deodorizer that had a cloying sweetness to it .The first room we were staying in, the smell was so overpowering we moved into a second room. The smell was still present, but not as strong . We were unable to get enough pillows for the comfort of our full party . When we requested additional pillows, we were told they did not have any and suggested we use blankets in place of pillows . We will not be returning .

Bed was uncomfortable and pillows weee dime store quality. No shampoo in the shower. Overall this place needs a re-do...showing its age. Staff is till lovely, though and location is great. I mean, Bodo”s next door! Skip th e free breakfast, Bodo’s is calling...

The maid service was so so. We were not given new linens and had to ask for some at the front desk. The door to our room was very hard to open and close. We asked the front desk to have someone look at it. The guy came and said they had problems with it before and would fix it after we left. No help for us. BreKfast was very good every morning. TV not very good. Not sure the stay was worth the money. We stayed at a Sleep Inn right before this and it was less expensive and much better.
