Cannot Recommend This Place To Stay
Relax Inn Motel is directly across the street from extremely busy railroad tracks and often times there was a train on the tracks every fifteen minutes. Needless to say I could not sleep and had to pay for a two day stay as booked even though I only stayed one night because of the noise. I asked for a refund; but was denied by the motel management. My TV didn’t work there was never a picture signal and a motel employee came to my room and messed with the TV wiring and pulled a box down and unplugged a wire and plugged it back into the box and said it wasn’t working. The next morning I turned on the hot water and let it run and after an extensive amount of time I only got lukewarm water, it never did get hot and I could not shower. There are no closets only a shelf with a rod that was affixed to a wall; but there were no clothes hangers. The shelving holding the bathroom sink has almost no space for other items in order to get ready to go somewhere. I cannot recommend this motel even though it has been remolded. On a scale of 1 – 5 I give it a one.

Fair 4.0
I stayed 6 days and nights at Relax Inn during March, 2019. At no time during my stay did a maid enter my room. Therefore, I stayed with the same towels and sheets for my entire stay there. I had to make my bed every day. I had to take out my trash every day. I had to provide my own soap and shampoo. I was also disappointed to receive an extra charge of $4.00 a day for utilities which I imagine include lights and water. Imagine charging extra for lights and water. This charge should be included in the room rate so I could compare the nightly rate at Relax Inn with other motels in Flagstaff. This is deceptive pricing. I will not return to Relax Inn and I will not trust to provide accurate pricing.

Super cute room but not much sleep
The room was small, but all newly renovated. Everything looked freshly painted and just lovely. And then when I got in the bed, it made a horrible rusty, grinding noise. I had already been in the room for quite some time and I had just changed for bed so I decided to make the best of it and try not to move around too much. Then, at 9:30 as I had just fallen asleep, someone from the staff came pounding on my door because they had given me a queen bed room instead of the king room I had booked. They wanted to know if it was going to be ok to have the queen room. I shouted through the door that the bed size was fine. The next day I spoke with a nice man who apologized profusely and said maybe the cleaning staff had somehow disengaged the bed frame or something causing the awful noise.

Oh-So-Perfect For A “Just-Passing-Through” Motel
We forgot about NAU graduation when we tried to find hotel accommodations in Flagstaff. Our normal choices were double or more the price because of it! Yikes! There were virtually very few choices. That’s how we ended up at The Relax Inn. I was horrified at the idea of a small, very vintage “Motel”! BUT....... oh, what a wonderful surprise! The owners checked us in quickly and were very friendly. Our room was oh-so-small, but newly remodeled and painted. It was also impeccably clean! And, even though the nightly room rate was high (because of graduation week), it was 50% less than anyone else! Their normal rate is $49-$69/night, depending on the season. There are no amenities. No pool. No free breakfast. Complimentary coffee in check-in office. But, if all you’re doing is driving through Flagstaff and just need a clean room with a comfortable bed, this is the place!!! My one, small recommendation would be to bring your own pillows. These were a little too big and firm for my liking.

Labor Day Weekend in Flagstaff
In Flagstaff for Labor Day weekend so I could show my work at the local art fair. Motel was a very short distance from downtown, and a very reasonable rate compared to some rooms right in town. There's plenty of parking, and since all the rooms have a door to the lot, we could park right outside our room- a nice plus for us! Our room looked like it had been recently remodeled, and it looked like they were still doing some sprucing up to other rooms. Needless to say- the room was perfectly clean and everything from the paint to the bathroom fixtures looked brand new. It was very clean and tidy. We had a small fridge and microwave in the room, and the grocery store was a short walk. Even though it appeared there were lots of people staying there, it was very quiet and comfortable. Would stay here again.
