A Fine Choice for a Tourist
I liked this hotel a lot. For sightseeing, I think the location is excellent. It's centrally located, has a metro stop beneath the building, and I walked to many enjoyable locations like the museums on the Esplanade and Kampong Gelam. By metro, it's a short hop to Gardens by the Bay and lots of other places. My room was very comfortable, except there wasn't a chair with a back that could be used for working at the table in the room, even though all the online pictures show one or two of these chairs in the room. This made it more uncomfortable to work than I was expecting. The pool is amazing! I loved swimming there every night. Service was quite good. It was usually excellent, but there were a few times it could have been better. I missed having concierge services. It was a bit strange to have to ring the front desk with all kinds of questions, as I was directed to do. They usually answered them well enough, but it's different than having a concierge to help one engage with the city. The nearby Albert Center might not be one of the famous hawker centers, but I had some delicious meals there and enjoyed talking with locals. I'm glad I chose this hotel.
