Very misleading to be listed as a hotel.
This is not a hotel, its a school project. It is literally inside a University where they have converted some of the dorms into "suites". It is in the same building as student housing. There is no parking around the facility, you park on the street, check in, pay $16 for the parking garage 2 blocks away, take your stuff up to your room, go back to the street & move your car, then walk 2 blocks uphill to get back to your room. Which is really awesome when you check in late & have to do all that in the dark. There is no air conditioning and the window is tiny, no fans so the room in the summer is basically a sauna at night. The television didn't work so I was left with watching Netflix on my phone. They also have a $100 damage deposit that was not mentioned in the ad. The appliances in the room were new and in working condition, and the addition of dishes & utensils would be nice, except for $200/night (including parking) it does not make up for the fact that you could get a more comfortable room for less money at a real hotel. Even a Motel 6 would be a better value for the money.

Ponderous Suites was a very good experience. We felt very safe there. The room was immaculate, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Two things made our stay a little difficult: I am short and almost needed a stepstool to get on the very high bed, and also the parking lot was a bit far away.

Clean dorm room
The room was clean with furnishings in good condition. The kitchen area was great because it has a larger than normal (for a hotel) refrigerator and most dishes and cookware you would need. The parking garage is a short walk from the entrance, but costs extra. This place is great to stay if you need to be near UBC because it is just a dorm room. If you will be visiting other sites in Vancouver, this location is isolated from most sites in Vancouver. The downsides of this room is that there is no air conditioning and the bed is small for two people. The weather was not very hot during our stay, so the lack of air conditioning was not so bad. There was a small vent in the wall that provided a bit of ventilation if you open up the window. The bed is only full size, so it may be difficult to sleep if two people need to share the bed. We would have definitely been more comfortable in a larger bed, but remember this is a single dorm room, so the room is only designed for one person. There is also a cloting-optional beach within walking distance, Wreck Beach.

great price / value
great stay, very nice UBC campus. Be prepared to travel 30-40 mins to downtown although the bus service is very reliable and frequent. Very hard to find another property at Vancouver in this price range
