Poor 2.0
terrible experience
When we arrived we were given a cottage and when we walked in the place it smelled horrible - as if someone had drank too much alcohol and threw up all over the place! The toilet did not flush and dirty dishes were stacked in the sink and on the counter. Floors looked as if never been mopped and the place was a mess. We complained to the manager and he gave us a room in the lodge. The central heat did not work and the outside temp reached 35 degrees that night. The place smelled of leaking gas in the downstairs kitchen area and when i told manager he simply said that propane tank was low, is why. The outside grounds were unkempt and a mess. During the day the bugs were so bad you could barely walk to your car without getting bitten all over. If we had not been so tired and i did not feel well - we would have left. Towels looked as if he used them to wash the car. This place needs a massive amount of work to make it 'exceptional' as online.

Good 6.0
Pay attention!
Service was inadequate. Toilet didn't work, room was cold so I shivered much of the night, & I still haven't received a copy of the bill. The place was lovely & some careful attention to details wd have made a big difference

Lovely locale for the country lover
Recently rebuilt, the grounds and lodge are beautiful and offer suites for reasonable prices.

Fair 4.0
Looked good, but major shortcomings.
The cabin was clean and attractive. The owner was friendly. But there was no warm water. The owner admitted that a leak in the gas line made running two faucets at once necessary to get hot water, but the shower (he said) worked fine. That was not our experience. No hot water in the shower meant a cold shower or no shower. We chose no shower and left earlier in the morning than planned. (The two running faucet routine also didn't work.) Additionally, the cabin had no coffee. The lodge is miles from a store. Perhaps the lodge should warn customers that they should arrive with their own coffee if they want some in the morning?
