Anniversay Visit
We were there for our 25th Anniversary and it was made very special by the staff especially the man who served us for lunch/evening meal Saturday night and evening meal Sunday when we were the only ones in the restaurant. I think his name was attilen. He catered for my not intolerance. Food was amazing and the final meal dessert had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate a wonderful touch. We will be back to try the afternoon tea. Overall only down side was a drunk guest early Sunday morning screaming obscenities which was sort promptly but the staff and in no way was the blame of the hotel. Had the most wonderful time. Thank you

Delightful Country Hotel
This is a lovely country hotel, mainly a place for meetings. I was there to attend a local festival. It was within 30 minutes walking of the event, but bring your wellies. It's a well used bridle path on a working farm along a creek. Despite a touch a mud, etc., it is a beautiful, and I mean beautiful country walk. The hotel has 140 acres of lake surrounded paths. I walked all around, and it was balm to my soul. The hotel is a converted house with additions. The bathroom was fine, although the shower feels more gravity fed than pressurized. The room was light and airy. The desk was spacious, allowing me to do a lot of computer work. The food was awesome. It became a standing joke to myself that I wasn't allowed a knife. No steak knife for a pork loin (awesome) or any knife for my carrots). This was remedied quickly. Can't say enough about the food in the main restaurant, off the bar menu, or breakfast as being good to excellent. The dessert soufflé actually rated an awesome. Did have wifi issues. But I have wifi issues in any older property.

A lovely location and a charming hotel with olde world standards and quality. Having stayed on a several occasions I know there are a number of variations in room size, style and decor - ranging from the very luxurious to the bog standard one might find in mid range chain of city hotels....and often for the same or similar price so it seems that pot-luck and availability influence where you lay your head at night. The public areas are characterful and in keeping with the country house style and the service and food is always exceeding expectation.

Lovely hotel near Battle
A lovely hotel - we had a great home at the front of the hotel. The grounds are beautiful and we definitely stay there again & do the walk through to Battle from the hotel. Excellent breakfast.
