We booked a GetYourGuide tour of the city before we came - all day, being driven around and shown the sights including stop-offs at the prison, the Apartheid Museum and the Mandela House in Soweto. We were so glad we did this - the guide was superb

Avoid the dodgier areas of Downtown but make sure to visit Constitution Hill (and the Old Proson) and Soweto, if youre after a bit of apartheid history. The best safari within an hour of JoBurg is the Lion and Safari Park at Broederstroom.

It's such a historic city and we wish it would get better for the future. There should be more tourism and attractions. Everything closes very early and not all areas are safe.

Visit the Apartheid Museum and take a walking tour of Soweto. Both are really interesting and will give you a better understanding of life in Johannesburg.

Beautiful city. We had the opportunity to take part in multiple cultural tours and learn more about the history, the culture and how it is developing now and our minds were blown. We definitely plan to come back.

Joburg is a beautiful interesting place, I would say the only thing that I sometime wish was different, is that service tend to be slow overall.

Johannesburg is a massive city with all the good and bad that comes with it. Endless restaurant options, and of course huge travel distances and traffic and one must be careful where your GPS sends you through. But the people are so friendly 🤘

JoBurg has a reputation for being unsafe but Sandton is a rich, lovely surburb that is quieter, nicer and safer than most major cities around the world

The breakfast buffet is delicious. The shuttle to and from the airport is perfect and easy to catch. The perfect play for an overnight stay"

"The stay was only for one night before our onward journey. We ate in the cafe area on a couple of occasions and everyone in the group had something different but everyone said the food was delicious."
