Exceptional 10.0
Excellent hotel, recommend that you have a car
This hotel was excellent for comfort, for the staff, the breakfast, and I think we got good value. The queen beds were actual queen beds, the blackout drapes worked well since this was our first stop on a trip from North America. Everything was modern and updated in our rooms. My only caution for visitors is that the location is not very close to services, so it is best if you have a car if you stay here - plenty of on-street parking.

Good location, clean
I visited Reykjavík for a conference which was held at Hilton. I found City Park across the street from conference place. The hotel is about 25-30 min walk to main attractions of Reykjavík. It is clean hotel with helpful stuff at the front desk. Everyone was pleasant and helpful with tips where to go, what to see and complimentary coffee and tea at the front desk 24 hr. The room was clean, small, with minimum of supplies: 1 small pillow per bed (brought extra at request), liquid soap at the sink and in a shower. Room had kettle and tea packs, which was very nice to get warm after cold weather outside. We visited Reykjavík in May when the nights are very lights: sun rises at 3:30 am and sun set at 12:30, the curtains in a room are not totally block the light, so it is never dark enough for comfortable sleep. My main issue with this hotel was a noise outside at 6 am every morning (trash pick up or some loud banging noise) that woke us up and lasted for a while. You have to sleep with open windows because heating system is so cheap there, the room is very warm with closed windows. The breakfast was OK, same every day, but good variety (eggs, croissants, bacon, yogurts, some fresh fruits and coffee, tea). Parking is very small at the hotel but it was very easy to find free parking on the streets around. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Easy access and free parking
About a half hour walk to city center and most sightseeing. Free street parking is also nice, since you have to pay to park in most places around the city. Hotel offers a small, but well-stocked buffet (breakfast and dinner). Rooms are very small, about a foot around the bed to move around. This is an older (about mid-century) building, that is being remodeled and repurposed, so the rooms are decorated with modern shelves and desk (no space for chair in our room). No extra blankets or pillows in room, but didn’t ask. Room and bathroom were not cleaned well. Hot water smells of sulphuric, as probably most places in the city (geothermal activity). Front desk is friendly and helpful.
