Lovely escape in the country
The hotel is absolutely lovely - and the setting is so relaxing - the gardens are a must-see. The room was beautiful and we had a small balcony overlooking the garden, home baked shortbread in the room every day. Breakfast was well cooked, and delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a great, well-priced dinner on the Sunday night. It is expensive (£220 a night) and whilst I couldnt fault most things for the price I would have liked some bathrobes in the room, and a small fridge would have been welcome. There is only a small seating area downstairs (by the front door) and so nowhere to go when the weather is bad, and so no full hotel services but then this is a boutique B&B rather than an hotel. Was very clean although our bathroom bin hadnt been emptied from previous occupants, and we had a lovely walk in shower but no bath - a couple of things stopped this being 5/5. There was no wifi while we were there but this was a regional problem.
