Overall nice hotel, decor around the lobby very nice and clean. Reception staff very good well presented and friendly. Especially the concierge team I think this guys name was Mr shivamba helped us a lot with travel arrangments and getting around. The room was cosy had a showe clean toilet and room service was also good to high standards. My main complain was with the breakfast buffet the pastry is ancient needs to be binned. It was the same untouched pastry for the whole week I was their also the variety in breakfast selections need to change as that was also the same all week. My major concern to which I also complained about was the kitchen/restaurant staff on level 6. They are not only slow but ignore your queries seemsl to be engaged in their own chit chats. Furthermore I paid 200MYR deposit at check in and was told that this can be used for anything I order at the restaurant or room service etc... When I went swimming which is by the restaurant obviously yiu dont walk around with money. My wife ordered a coffee. After I gave the restaurant team my room number they called three times in the pace of an hour. Naturally you will go to your room shower relax etc and on the way out from 18th floor I would pay. On the first occasion I let it go. But this happened twice to the point I felt violated. I brought this forward to the duty managers attention who was sympathetic but dont know what happened after that.

Not friendly staff
The front desk staff weren’t very friendly. This was our last stop after a month of travel through asia. We were tired and not feeling well after arriving from an early flight. I had also emailed them the day prior about transportion from the airport and also checking in early but there was no reply. We ended up calling a uber from the airport. When we arrived probably around noon, we asked to check in early and were flat out told no check ins until 3pm. They didn’t even check if any rooms were available. Many other hotels that we stayed at in Thailand and Vietnam were very accommodating to early check ins. So we left our bags with the front desk and went exploring. When we finally checked in, the bellhop helped us find our bags and just left. He didn’t help us take our bags up to our rooms, it was so strange. Everywhere else we stayed, people rushed to help us with our bags. Otherwise, room was clean and comfortable. There was only one international outlet, we called downstairs to get an adapter but we never got it. The breakfast was probably the best part. A wide variety of choices from Chinese to Indian. And you can enjoy your breakfast by the amazing pool

Disappointed
I stayed at the Verdant twice, 3 weeks apart. My first stay was ok but my second not good. I was given a tiny room on my second visit, most of the room taken up by an entrance hall. I asked if I could PAY for an upgrade and I was not treated very well at all. Ended up costing me twice as much as my original booking. Since my first visit there was no longer a free shuttle service and umbrellas were no longer available at reception for when it rained. I was asked for a 100 Ringet deposit at check in which I haven't encountered anywhere else. After finally getting into my room about 9:30pm after the unpleasant upgrade experience I ordered room service. When it arrived I was told I could not sign for it and had to pay for it as the deposit I had paid at check in wasn't enough to cover it. "So? I pay when I check out." No, now. I hadn't had a chance to change any money yet so didn't have enough. He goes and gets a credit card machine which doesn't work with either of my cards so I have to now go downstairs to the restaurant. The manager says the machine only works in the restaurant. I go to reception and complain politely and quietly about my treatment and am then discreetly escorted by a security guard up to my floor. By now my meal is cold and disgusting. The breakfast here is dismal particularly, if like me, you don't eat eggs. A lot of it is dry and hard and only lukewarm. No bacon. Stay somewhere else.

Smalll noisy rooms
First the pros, really great location near a great bar scene and not far from the amazing food street Jalan Alor. Nice swimming pool area on the 6th floor to cool down in after a walk in the heat. Breakfast had a great range of different foods and staff very helpful and friendly. They also provide a shuttle 3 times a day to the towers and other shopping destinations. The con, which is a big one, is that the rooms are small and noisy. You think from the lobby area, which is lovely that the rooms would reflect this but they dont. Basically 4 walls and a bed, nowhere to put your luggage and dont bother to unpack, only a tiny closet and 1 draw. Our bed was 2 feet away from the door so heard all the noise from the hallway but worst was that you can hear someone have a shower in the next room and it is loud, like a high pressure hose and if someone has a shower late at night or early morning, it will wake you up. You can hear doors closing in other rooms as well and also the air con is loud and would not adjust the temperature so was freezing, had to keep turning it off and on. The bathroom however was the best part of the room.

My first impression of the hotel lobby was good. Then again it’s the lobby, it has to look CLEAN. If it wasn’t for the friendly staff, I would have rated this place one star. It’s equivalent to a Holiday Inn and nothing more. The room was small and had a damp smell. One of the pillows had some yellow stains, the room was dingy (stained carpet, dirty walls & windows). Housekeeping didn’t do much other than make my bed (I know that because the same stains I saw were still there after they had “cleaned” the room. They were also very stingy with toilet paper. A new roll of toilet paper is equivalent to half a roll in the states (toilet paper was very thin so you have to use a lot). Come on, you can’t afford to leave an extra roll in the bathroom for your guests?!? I had to ask for one daily. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.
