Good & hip spot to stay, but ...
Thin walls... Heard lots of noise/sounds throughout the night, even it’s a Monday night. The overall experience is great though.

Love the atmosphere
Very cool hotel, loved the decor and the staff was great. Didn't like that the swimming pool on the roof was open to locals as there were no chairs open for guests to lay out, or spots open at the bar. The hotel guests are designated by a yellow wrist band, so it was easy to tell the difference between the two. The bed was sadly not very comfortable, but I had read about that in other reviews, so maybe should have taken it into account before I booked. The restaurant and downstairs bar and lobby area are really beautiful. For some reason the feed to the tv was off the entire time, but I didn't go to NOLA to watch tv so that really wasn't a big deal to me, although it did bother my husband. I have stayed in NOLA many times and this was not my favorite neighborhood to hang out in, but we wanted to try something different. Not disappointed with the beautiful decor but probably wouldn't stay again.

Would be 5-star if managed better
The hotel design was great and there are some benefits to the hotel: great location, the on-site restaurant is fantastic, and with live entertainment, it's definitely not boring. However, this is a very poorly managed hotel. We were never called when our room was ready for check-in, our luggage wasn't brought up to the room, room service cuts off so early (esp in Nola) that it's useless, housekeeping was inept (no body wash in the shower for our entire stay), and they let anyone with $20 use the pool and camp out on the beds, making it inaccessible to their guests who paid Ace Hotel prices. We had a much better experience at the Ace in downtown L.A., so I believe this is a local management issue.

Great location, beautiful rooftop pool, excellent in-house restaurant. The room felt stuffy and clammy. Beds weren't super comfortable. Decor a bit dark.
