Catahoula Hotel, New Orleans
Huge potential, but dirty and disappointing.
We came down to New Orleans for a family emergency we were dealing with. Truthfully, we were spending most of our time at the hospital and just needed a comfortable place to sleep. Sadly, this hotel did not even deliver on that. To begin, all of the standard rooms are on the ground level and most are exterior facing with low windows that could easily be accessed by the outside. As a female sleeping here alone, I did not feel comfortable in these rooms at all. Upon request, they kindly showed me other standard rooms, and I chose the one available which was interior facing (to the hotel's atrium) where I felt more secure. In addition, the room I did end up choosing was not well-maintained or clean. It had a strong mildewy smell, the sheets had stains all over them, and the mattress had 3-4 very large dark stains that shown through the sheets. I contacted who spoke to their front desk manager to request a refund for the trip, which they agreed to. But, when I went to check out, the front desk manager did not even apologize or care to know what was wrong with the room. I actually had to ask to show him the pictures of the room so that he could improve for the next guest... This hotel has a ton of potential. Everyone I spoke to raved about the rooftop bar and seemed to really like the area. So I was sad the rooms, cleanliness, and management were so poor. Will definitely never stay here again.

Poor quality
Me & my Beyoncé booked a room for a birthday celebration. However upon arrival the room wasn’t what I expected from the pictures. Secondly, in the lobby area and the first floor had a mildew smell , No shower curtains the Iron board & the air was in the hallway and the housekeeping l service was horrible, ice machine broke , the bathroom sink that’s come out from the Window ledge was loosely hanging in room 24

Unimpressive! The floors were not clean, no storage, very small rooms. Check-in was a breeze, staff was friendly, and the location was good. Otherwise, I would not recommend the Catahoula Hotel.

Mis-Managed (Cool Property, No customer service)
Beautiful hotel with amazing finishes and creative brilliance from the owners. It is clear they had a vision when building it. However, there were easily 50 cigarette butts all over the staircases and open area. Empty glasses and beer bottles everywhere. The cleaning staff was sitting and smoking when we arrived. The front desk clerk was the least friendly front desk person I've ever met. Everything was a one word answer, almost seemed altered or not fully awake. The rooms are beautiful but it looks like they've been ravaged by too many parties - dents, paint chips, random stab marks? And it is LOUD, SO LOUD by the upstairs bar. You can hear everyone coming in and out of the door. For $340/night, stay somewhere else until they get better management, seems wholly mismanaged which stinks because the property is so beautiful.
