Good but no
Very fortunate to get checked in early from the frontline staff. However, for individual ladies or a group of ladies, this hotel is situated very near to a red light district. Mainly all Japanese theme and massage parlours for the whole stretch. Making it quite unsafe to walk during the night. No doubt, this location is near a financial district, therefore, location wise is good to stay there if you are in town for work. However, not a place for leisure and family. Besides that, the bathroom and washroom have a very weird design. The glass is tinted and not blocked out, only one door to share between the restroom and shower area. So is either you close the restroom area while using it or shower area. You only get to choose which area to close at one time. Making it very very inconvenient when you shower. As when you stepped out, the foot towel has to be a distance away from the door in order to open it. Making the whole area wet and slippery. However, they were very accommodating in extending my room by an hour without hesitation. However, the next day, they called the room at 12:15 saying they need the room now. Makes me question, what happened to the promise of extending my check out by an hour.

Comfortable, Clean and Spacious
A friend of ours recommended the Bay Hotel, and we're so glad that we decided to check it out. Not only are the staff members super friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is new and in very good condition. The weather was very hot during our stay, but the hotel provided us with a welcome relief - it is very well air-conditioned, and very comfortable. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with all of the things we needed to enjoy our stay. Additionally, the rooftop pool was wonderful, and had great views of both the city as well as the bay. The fitness centre is quite small and can get quite warm, despite featuring a cooler. It does the job, though, so I'd recommend visiting it during the cooler hours of the day. Our room's only mirror was in the bathroom, and lit with quite a yellow light, so it wasn't great for applying make-up. However, this can beeasily remedied if you bring along your own small mirror - the large window beside the desk makes for great lighting. It isn't located very near many of the city's shops or markets, but they are only a very brief taxi ride away. There are also many restaurants on the same street, which is very handy. We enjoyed our stay, and would most certainly stay at the Bay Hotel again.

Decent hotel in HCMC, but nothing special
I will preface this review by saying I had booked this hotel for the night of my boyfriend's birthday under the pretense that it'd feel like a "special" hotel (I'll admit, the rooftop pool sold me), and will also add that we arrived to the hotel on the later side after an afternoon of flying and sitting in horrendous HCMC traffic to get there. There is nothing at all wrong with the hotel itself--it is perfectly functional, the location is quite good, the roof top pool is decent, and everything is clean--but beyond that? There was nothing charming, romantic, or celebratory about it. It also didn't help that upon checking in, we were given a room with 3 separate twin beds when we'd specifically requested a queen or king. The staff then asked if we'd mind pushing the 3 beds together, and at that point, I got quite frustrated (re: boyfriend's birthday, long day traveling, etc.) and insisted we change rooms. I will say, the staff did rectify the situation promptly and switched us to a different room, but even after me apologizing and making a point to thank the staff member, I can tell I ruffled some feathers, which wasn't a great feeling. Our room also has a very odd design, where the bathroom has frosted glass walls surrounding it, so it wasn't the most...private...of bathrooms? Not a huge deal, but I figured it was worth mentioning. Again, nothing wrong with the hotel itself, just not at all romantic and very different from what I expected.

Window-less room without prewarning
We booked rooms 8 months in asvance, and info on booking said nothing in particular. Upon on arrival we were told that we wete to recieve window-less rooms. I did not even know such a thing existed...we took a look but refused to stay in tve dark crypt they offered. They showed us the webpage that now had the info added that certain rooms were windowless - but I stated I dont care - no such info was added when we booked and no info had been added to reservation info. Eventually after 30 minutes debating we got a room with a sad view but at least windows. This area in District 1 is packed with brothels disguised as massage parlors. Girls all dressed alike sitting in the windows waiting to be picked. All men walking by are contacted.

price is good for what you get. the only thing is that the rooms are very close together and you can hear the water running from someone above you. I also do not get VIP treatment besides 20% off food they said, nothing to do with you being a VIP guest. i went for lunch outside with a friend before coming back to the hotel to pick up my bags from the room with my friend and i have the hotel front desk calling me saying i have an unexpected visitor with me and i needed to register them? im like for what? im picking up my bad from the room and checking out since it was 12pm (check out time). i found it very rude for the front desk to be calling me when i was leaving to register my friend. very unprofessional. I work in hotels myself for over 6 years now and this isn't a way to treat your guest that are supposed to be VIP. other then that it was a decent stay.
