Better value elsewhere
Positives: good bed, lots of hot water and good a/c. Hotel has seen better days. Small room. Spotty internet. Inconsistent cleaning: some days the glasses and coffee cups were replaced, others, no. One bedside table light did not work. Lampshades need replacing. Gym has 2 treadmills,2 bicycles , 2 ellipticals. There are no free weights, no weight machines. No weights. Call the desk to turn on the a/c (or do it yourself) before you go. Jacuzzi on the roof - call front desk to turn it on. Hotel is a solid 20-25 minute walk to downtown...or a quick, cheap taxi ride. You can pay a little more in Merida and get an excellent hotel.

Very Good 8.0
Good, reasonably priced choice
Very nice, relatively new hotel in the hotel zone of Merida. This is about a 20 minute walk to city center. I prefer this location to the city center as it is not so chaotic and crowded. As most hotels here, from my experience, doors are hollow core. So, you’ll hear people in the hallway. I have found this to be true at 5* hotels, as well. I suggest a room far from the elevator and facing rear, or side to limit noise. This is a basic consideration in Mexico and not specific to this hotel. Hotel faces Paseo Montejo, a major boulevard with numerous shops and restaurants. I have traveled to Merida numerous times and would not hesitate to stay here again. Clean, friendly and safe. My only negative experience was the restaurant breakfast. Limited variety. And, what I did have was cold. I went to another hotel nearby the next day for breakfast.

Great location!
Little disappointed, was looking forward to the jacuzzi on the roof but less then 1/4 of the jets were working and it was dirty and low water level. Also got all the way up there and had to go back down to the lobby in swimsuit to ask for towels and that it be turned on as the phone did not work. WiFi signal was also very weak, beds hard. I booked a city view room but was given a room overlooking the back parking lot, front desk gave me a new room but still no city view because there was a tree in front of the window. Should not have been given the first room as it was not what I booked. Despite all this, the staff was very friendly and helpful and quick to try and fix anything that was mentioned to them.

Hotel Victoria in Merida
We had a great few days in Merida at the Hotel Victoria. The location is great because you are right on the Paseo Montejo where you can stroll for blocks and find museums, mansions, stores and restaurants. The roof top terrace is very nice and would have been better if the jacuzzi was working. The hotel restaurant is good and staff are very personable. Every was great. The only negative is the rooms could use a little updating.
