Disappointing
Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of June 2017, the room appears to be in good shape, and clean. However this Hotel is used by a large number of truckies, and there does not seem to be any restrictions on where the trucks can park. On my first night, about 2am, I was woken to a logging truck starting its engine no more than 20-30m away from my room, the walls are pretty thin and could hear the people in the room adjacent getting it on, this could of been avoided by not having the heads of the beds directly against the same wall. When I returned to my room for the second night, I found that all my belongings had been packed up, including things left on the side table, and shoes put into my bag. There was no communication with me in regards to this, but I found out the next day as I was leaving, As I passed a cleaner, she asked me if I was in that room, and started to tell me about a smell they had noticed prior to my arrival (I didnt notice a strange smell), and apparently they organised to have the carpet cleaned during the day. So packed my stuff up without notifying me of what was happening.

It was our first trip to New Zealand and my daughter's first trip overseas. We were both impressed with Christchurch and the people we met there. The Racecourse Hotel was most pleasant and the food yummy. It was great that there was more than one choice for vegetarian foods as it is sometimes hard to find hotels that do have a choice and at a good price too. Well done. I hope we can visit there again in the future. Ms Barnes and Daughter. It was especially great as we celebrated our birthdays during our visit to NZ. south island only for this visit.

Fair 4.0
Had booked on line and when we arrived were told that we had the wrong date even when we showed him the print out of the date we booked. We were shown the book where we could see everyone that had a booking and pointed out our names. Room was dirty . carpet had grease on it and the bathroom hadn't been clean very well . the food at the restaurant was beautiful and could not fault the service

Be prepared for an early start
The place was clean and tidy and had a comfortable bed. It suited me as it was close to my area of business and had a restaurant for meals which was great. I did not realise it was also a favourite with Truck Divers of big rigs until 4am in the morning when they start their engines and get on the road for the day. However I would still stay here again when on business just not on holiday.
