Painfully disappointed
We love family vacations at all inclusive resorts around Cancun, but this did not deliver. We have stayed at 8 resorts, including 2 others in Playa Mujeres, and all were much better.
This resort is 5 years old but has been worn so hard it seems like its 20 years old. Although most of the staff is friendly(surprisingly not all), there its not a customer service priority. For example: you can only make dinner reservations for the day of and only between 1-3pm; however they only let you reserve for roughly 6pm or 9pm, otherwise its first-come-first-served. We saw a family that was first in line at 1pm be told that there were no reservations available at the restaurant they wanted. Go figure?!? It is not uncommon to arrive at any of the restaurants and face a greater than 1 hour wait.
I have never stayed at a Caribbean resort that literally did not have any single fresh fruit for the "fruity" cocktails (only sugary syrup flavorings).
The minibar had 3 snacks when we checked in and they would not replenish them (we literally had to beg for them to replaced).
It was almost impossible to find a shaded spot by the beach.
There were some bright spots. Our son appreciated that the late night room service was very fast. Oscar and Osvaldo at the Tres Color's Mexican Restaurant were awesome. Brenda and Miguel in reservations were a pleasure to deal with
