A beautiful old hotel. Effort has gone into up to date renovations. Looked like the rug didn’t get vacuumed, but staffing shortages are affecting everyone.

8/10 Very good

We were upgraded on arrival to a larger room. Bed was comfy, room was clean and spacious and it looked like the furnishings were on the newer side. The property itself is obviously in need of some work and modernisation, but it was good value for money and conveniently located. No parking on site - there is a public car park a few minutes walk away, which is free overnight.

Staff were very friendly and helpful especially with my dietary requirements. General housekeeping was a little haphazard but staff were always reponsive to sorting out. The building, which must have veen very grand in its day, is a little tired and needs some tlc. However the location is lovely and it is great for walking the coast path. Overall a pleasant stay.
