The Atwood seems to be going downhill
I travel to San Diego at least six times per year. I've often stayed at the Atwood because it's generally a known entity -- usually very clean, included parking, decent amenities. I don't know that I'll stay there anymore because it seems to be degrading. The in-room HVAC unit wouldn't kick out any heat at all (and the rooms do get quite cold at night in the winter), the fridge would only "freeze" items (not just keep them cold) even after I adjusted it, there weren't enough towels, the TV had to be turned on by finding the button on the actual TV. The bathroom was in rough shape, needs some attention. And both nights this weekend we were bombarded by pot smoking filtering into our room and loud music and yelling from a neighboring room. Ugh.

Unfortunately NO HEATER.The front desk clerk was very nice & she switched our room from a non working heater, toliet that didn't stop running water & a fire alarm that kept chirping almost every hour to a room tbat also had a non working heater. The rooms are nicely decorated & were clean but to have to spend a night in complete cold & misery was what made this place a terrible choice. If they fix all their a/c heater units then this place would be fantastic. It has alot of pluses besides its few minor problems like the heater, there's a nice pizza spot a few feet away, a small store for any necessities. Its right off the freeway. Theres a mall not far away from here & u get to old town within minutes as well as some other nice neighborhoods. The beach was like 10 minutes to get to.

Nice, clean, safe and convenient Hotel.
Easy and friendly check in. The room was clean and attractive. The TV did not work, but I didn't complain as I'm not a real TV person. Also, the toilet made a funny noise when filling, but functioned just fine.

A wonderful night's stay!
Desk staff were friendly and super helpful (I banged up my arm and they quickly find me a couple bandages! ). Room was large and immaculately clean. Bed was very (!!!) comfy. I will stay again.
