Late Fall Stay at Sago
Only one staffer was there when we arrived on a Friday night, other called-out sick. The one guy, Matthew, did *everything* to make things OK. Arrived during the first cold snap of the year. The heat did not work in our room! Matthew tried to work the system, finally overrode the heater (freezing wife = unhappy wife). TV remote control did not work, Matthew worked 2 other new ones until we at least had one remote for volume and one remote for changing channels, as long as you stood on the side of the TV. Yikes. Again, Matthew made what would have been a horrendous night much easier. Next day, wine and cheese offering was excellent, good afternoon pause after being out all day and going out at night. Very nice. Continental breakfast was sparse but good. I neglected to get the name of the lady that served us, but she was great as well. The staff more than made up for the shortcomings of the building and organization. Hotel was clean and nice looking, in a good part of town for visitors like us.

Loved Sago Hotel
Many reasons made my stay enjoyable - from their friendly staff, to coffee in the morning, to wine in the afternoon, to great restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. An easy walk to the West side and easy access to various subway lines. Highly recommend a visit to the Tenement Museum - just across the street. A fantastic New York stay.

Very Good8.0
Great Service. Friendly Atmosphere. Clean.
We had a pleasant stay the first night, followed by a very strong cigarette smell coming into our room the second night at 2am from a room above or below us. It was so bad we could not stay in the room and resorted to sleeping on the lounge sofa at the recommendation of the night manager. Although the staff could not fix this issue immediately due to full booking, they rectified it the next day by upgrading our room and refunding us for the night that we could not use the room. We were very pleased with manner in which they handled the issue. I would recommend Sago to anyone looking to stay in the Lower East Side with easy walking distance to Soho.
