It’s always great to stay at the Sago. The location is so prime and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The bed was great, room was not as large as I expected, said pull out couch but didn’t have one. . And the furniture needs some TLC

Small room, lacking amenities
The room was small and kind of bare bones-ish. The platform bed took up more space than a regular bed would have, and was just an awkward fit for the space. No mini bar, no mini fridge, or even glasses/cups in the room. The lighting was limited, (no hallway entry light to speak of, although one switch didn’t seem to do anything) and the window didn’t open at all. I will say the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the room, bathroom and common areas of the hotel were very clean. The hotel lobby and hallways were nicely updated and had the boutique ‘feel’ but the room itself was probably the least interesting, bland and tight that I’ve ever stayed in, in NYC. The area is great, and we found two restaurant gems we will return to in the future. Dudley’s for brunch and Freeman’s had one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had, both just a short walking distance from the hotel. There may be better room options in the hotel than the one we had, (we were almost street level and there were no sheers on the window, so for privacy sake we had to keep the shade down the whole time, which made it dark because of the limited lighting) but we probably wouldn’t return just because the room felt a bit like a prison cell.

Definitely coming back
Great rooftop balcony & the linens and towels were super high quality. Lots of places to explore in the neighborhood!
